  1. Anyone own one of these? I finally decided a tin boat would be best for me. I found an 05 18' Polarkraft w/ a 150 yamaha vmax for 13K at a dealer. The motor only has 62 hrs on it, with a little bit of warranty left. It has 2 gps units and a 24v 70# minn kota all terrain tm. I don't know anyone that owns a polar kraft and have only seen a couple on the water. Any advice would be great.
  2. I got mine last week.
  3. Don't forget about the spro Mcsticks! They have out produced any jerkbait I've ever used this year.

I fished the rig on Guntersville the week of thanksgiving. I was throwing it on 7'11 H Glx flippin stick, a curado e7 with 50# sufix braid. The long rod isn't necessary i don't believe but you definitely need a heavy action rod. I have dobyns champion 705 that would probably do just as well. I borrowed the rig from my buddy who got them off Ebay. We absolutely killed them we caught at least 30 keepers between 2-4# and 3 over 5. Yes, it will wear you out fishing it all day, I took smoke breaks and threw a fluke every hr or so to give myself a break.
  5. I have both they are the same reel. They are great reels. I bought the chronarch because I liked the new color, other than that there is no difference. So the question is do you want to spend the extra cash for the chronarch?
  6. Every time I find one for sale, it's already sold!
  7. I would love to get my hands on one of these reels for deep cranking.
  8. No difference I've got both. Same reel different color.
  9. 7'11 MH Cumara and a Curado 200e5 is what I use for deep cranking 18-20 fow. The added length helps launch those big cranks so they can reach max depth. I also use a 7' MH Crucial and a Curado 200DPV for cranking in the 12-16 foot range.

Im not sure who made the rig they were my buddies, all I know is he bought them on ebay.
  11. Thanks for you help Joker. I'll probably stick with the scorpion. I'm afraid I would spoil myself with the Metanium and never want to fish anything else again.
  12. What is the difference between the two in your opinion?
  13. I've been thinking about buying myself a x-mas present... it's nice to be single. LOL! Does anyone have this reel? How well does the digital cast control work? Do you still get backlashes? I'm not sure which rod I want to pair it with, I'm looking at a Dobyns DX744 or a G Loomis NRX 854c. Give me some idea's. Thanks
  14. 6 sets of Abec 7 orange seal Boca bearings 50% off from their website.
  15. I was looking at the schematic but couldnt figure what I was missing. The D was easy to take apart. I thought it would be the same.
  16. I'm having some difficulties getting the side plate off on my Curado E's. I've got the handle off and all the screws out, but it just doesn't want to pop off. Any suggestions? I'm afraid of trying to pry it off with the wrench, I dont want to scratch the finish.
  17. That was it, thanks. I knew it had to be something simple.
  18. I took this reel apart cause it needed a cleaning, I put it all back together and the drag clicker isn't working now. I'm sure I must have put something on backwards. Any suggestions?

No we never had a doubles or triples. I was a little surprised at that. It's crazy how that thing gets em going, the swimbait was the key though, we threw 4 diff kinds, Berkeley, Storm, Basstrix, and Big Hammers. No fish on the storm or berkely baits. The Big hammer was by far the winner. I was short on hammers so I put the Basstrix on with them. It was probably 3 fish to 1 big hammer to Basstrix bait. Here's a couple pics. It was tough to get any good pics with the weather. It's crazy how fat these fish are, the longest fish was barely 20" and went 5.2. We were throwing back 14" fish that were pushing 2 lbs.

First trip to Guntersville and definitely won't be my last. Fished from about 8:30 until 4:30 in the rain and thunderstorms around the goose pond colony area. It was an unbelievably incredible trip! We caught around 40 fish total with at least 30 keepers between 3-4 lbs 3 right at the 5 lb mark and no more than a handful that we're short. Me and my partner had 20# sacks each, it was my best day ever! The Bama rig is no joke it gets them going, but it will wear you out. I would take a break from throwing it and throw a fluke, it worked well but definitely not as effective as the rig. There we're bass busting shad everywhere you looked, just look for a blow up and toss the A-rig. It was like those fish had never eaten before, just gorging themselves on shad. We've got a few pictures but it was tough with the pouring rain. I can't wait to go back again!
  21. I fished all weekend at the Hollow. It was tough for me and my partner, we managed a few fish on 3/4 football jigs and a couple on swimbaits early and late. We fished main like points but couldn't find any real pattern. It was tough with the high skies and no wind. The water temp was 58 in the morning and mid 60's by the end of the day. Good luck, its a tough place to fish but it always brings me back.
  22. OK I guess I'll go with the GLX and I can flip and punch with the Dobyns. It's definitely stout enough to flip 1.25 oz punching weights. I'll throw spinnerbaits on the Crucial and throw tx rigs on the outside edge of the grass with the cumara. I'll wait until next year to buy a frog set up but I can probably get by without one because there really isn't anywhere close to use it regularly.
  23. I'm going to Guntersville to throw a frog next weekend or the weekend after that. I really want to throw the frog, but don't have a set up specifically for it. I have four options I can use: 7'11 GLX flippin stick w/ Curado E7, 7'2 MH XF Cumara w/ Core 100mg, 7'0 MH Crucial w/ Curado E7, or a 7'0 Ex-H Dobyns Champion w/ Chronarch E7. I really planned on punchin' the mats with the GLX, but I've thrown a frog on it before and it did ok. My first choice is the Cumara but I don't know if its strong enough to horse fish through the grass. Second is the Dobyns rod, but I've tested it before and it doesn't cast the frog as well as I like. The Crucial really does whatever I need it to but like the Cumara I don't know if it has the backbone to move the fish. What do you guys think?
  24. Well the free tackle bag ripped the first time I used it and the rain gear went down in price a week after I got it. So I called cabelas today to see what they would do about it. They are sending me a new bag and refunding me $80 for the difference in price. They just got themselves a lifetime customer... Too bad they don't have a location in nashville.
  25. I've been looking at boat for sale with this motor. I've googled it and what not but i'm not getting a whole lot of info on it, other than an argument that the yammies generally had 25% more HP than the cowl indicated. Did they have any problems with these motors. Is it a reliable motor? Any help would be great.
