Old shimano Curado value
My buddy has an old Shimano Curado he wants to know the value of. I'm not sure what the model # is but it's about 25years old and its bright red. It's in near mint condition and he fishes with it all the time. But he's been thinking about getting rid of it so he can get a new Core 50mg. I will try to find a pic to post. He's looked on ebay but there weren't any for sale. Any clues to its value would be appreciated.

Suggestions on crankbait rod. Help me spend money!
IMHO a high-end crankbait rod isn't necessary. The bass pro crankin sticks are good crankbait rods and you can get them on sale for like $40 sometimes. However, once I bought my first high-end rod I knew I was in trouble. I will never go back to the cheap stuff. It just makes fishing more pleasurable for me. Back to your question though, right now I use a crucial 7' MH CB rod and I love it. It's great for shallow to medium cranks. It handles deep cranks too but I can't get the distance I want out of the cast. So I'm waiting for the cumara 7'11 crankbait rod to come out in the spring. It looks awesome for deep cranking. I think it cost about $240.

Help me choose a cranking rod please!!!
Heard good things about the KVD cranking rods, but have never used one. They are about $150. I have a 7' MH crucial crankbait rod that I love its great for mid depth cranking. I just can't the casting distance with it I need for deep cranking. So, I'm waiting for the shimano cumara 7'11 cranking rod to come out. It looks awesome but its a little more than you are looking to spend. BTW the crucial is also around $150.

Falcon FTO
I have four of them. The spinnerbait box works great and keeps everything organized. The terminal tackle box is amazing period. The lipless crank box does alright but things still get fouled up. The jig box is a disappointment. The only ones I can get to stay in the slot are 3/4oz jigs all the rest fall out and get tangled up.

Caught a fish on the first cast....
I do it's happened to me the last two trips. The first trip I caught a dink LMB on a tube, and only caught one more fish between me and my buddy. The last time out he caught a dink smallie and that was it.

Cutting cork
How would you recommend I remove the whole fore grip?

Fishing without a boat in Middle Tennessee
As much as you can afford. I only have a 30# minnkota transom mount. I borrowed my friends 20' pontoon boat one day and put it on there. It pushed it around well enough on speed 3 and higher, less than 3 would barely move it. So it would do fine for a 12-14' jon.

Cutting cork
I have a Crucial DS rod and the fore drip has a notch in the cork where the blank is exposed. I really think it makes the rod more sensitive. So I was thinking about doing the same thing to a St. Croix premeire I have. How should I go about doing this? Cut out the notch with a razor blade, then sand it down to the blank? Should I coat the blank with something when it becomes exposed?

YUM Beavers
I picked up a pack yesterday cause Dick's doesn't carry the RI's anymore. I tried them tonight in the neighborhood pond. They worked great flippin them weightless on the weed line. Let me first say that I had never caught anything over two pounds in this pond before. Tonight however, first cast 3#, then a 4#, 3 2.5#, and 3 or 4 dinks. Needless to say I was pleased with my purchase. They are really durable too, all those fish on one bait.

I really don't know anything about kayaks. Bass Pro has some cool ones set up for fishing but they are like $1000. For that money you get a jon boat w/ motor. I have a 12' pelican (plastic) jon boat that I like. It got me around with a trolling motor, but on windy days it's not worth the hassle.

A canoe or a kayak would be great too. You can go a long way in either if you want to paddle. I wouldn't take em out in the channel but some people do. I've seen people paddle from the hobson pike bridge to the dam at priest. Thats a long way.

Fishing without a boat in Middle Tennessee
It's hard to fish the lakes around here from the shore. There are always a ton of people in the spot you want to fish. Percy Priest is very rocky and you get snagged real easy. Keep wading creeks and fishing small ponds. The only place I can think of at percy priest would be stewarts creek. TWRA built a dock and made it very accessible for bank fishing. Another option would be go to a TWRA WMA like Williamsport outside of columbia. There are 5 lakes to fish, plus you can rent a jon boat for a couple bucks.

When nothing will work what lure do you use?
Drop shot w/ either a finesse worm or 4" lizard

Ultimate Match Fishing 2009
First time I saw this show was last night. Blauket vs. Lowen? Interesting concept I thought. Blaukets run and gun game plan didn't work too well for him. Lowen however pulled up on a spot and worked it thoroughly and it paid off for him.

Tow vehicle
I'm looking at an 01 Ford Explorer sport 4x4 with a 4.0 V6. It says it has a towing capacity of 5000#. I would imagine I could tow a decent size fish/ski with that? Does anyone tow with an Explorer?

Broken Carrot Stix... what to do?
I broke mine about a month ago, I didn't send in the warranty card either. So I called *** where I bought and they said just send it back to them. I had a new one in less than a week.

Maybe lying was the wrong word. How about pulling her chain?

Tow vehicle
Yeah well the closest lake to us is about 30 miles and it's mostly flat highway driving. I don't see a reason to burn up the tranny for that though. We will just have to wait.

Yes she is my GF. She always has to check to make sure I'm not lying to her.
