  1. Thats what I told her but she doesn't listen. Thanks for the back up fella's.
  2. My girlfriend wants to buy a boat specifically a fish and ski. At the moment I don't have a truck and all she has is an 07 honda crv 4cyl 4wd. I told her she wouldn't be able to tow much with that but she doesn't want to believe me. Honda states towing capacity at #1500. Would we be able to tow a 16-17' fish/ski with this vehicle. We are going to look at 94 Stratos 16'5" w/ 115hp. This would only be temporary until I get a new truck or SUV.
  3. Shimano crucial DS rod 6'8 MXF is a great rod for all finesse fishing not just drop shots. It's a little more than what you want to pay at $140 but worth every penny.
  4. i would recommend you don't get eaten by a bear.... LOL! Otherwise have a great trip.
  5. I played soccer from the time I was 4 all the way until I graduated high school and I loved it. However, watching soccer on T.V. makes me want to run through a plate glass window. Sooooooo BORING!
  6. I like trilene 100% is has never done me wrong. I have to agree a bad backlash will cost some money too. The first time I used it on a baitcaster i got a small backlash and then a knot developed I couldn't get out. Needless to say I lost half the spool. I was a little ticked to say the least but it was really sensitive so I got over it.
  7. What kind of baits are you talking about?
  8. I have both of those plus a Sebile Magic swimmer and have yet to catch a fish on any of 'em. Probably cause I don't use them enough. I would like to see evidence that they work too.

  10. The Natural could you post a link to brody's store? I tried to search for his shop and by seller but came up empty handed. Thanks
  11. There are some nice bass in percy priest but they can be hard to come by. That is a P.P hawg for sure. Nice fish.
  12. I see your from Middle TN. I am too (Franklin). Who did you take it to, so I don't make that mistake when I buy a boat.
  13. I use(d) braid (50# sufix) on my carrot stix until Wednesday. I never had any problems with it just don't tighten your drag down all the way. I say used because I broke my carrot stix completely in half on a fish that wrapped me around a tree and I tried to horse him out of it. Totally my fault but sh** happens.
  14. Anyone one fished here this week? Went last Saturday and caught a couple nothing real good though. I'm going back tomorrow morning, hoping to have a better day. Will probably put in at Elm Hill, may get a wild hair and go to Four Corners. Where the fish at?
  15. I don't know what the difference is but you should post this in the shimano forum and Bantam1 will be able to answer it for you.
  16. My guess would be a carp. Could be anything though.
  17. My tackle bag weighs 27#. It is overflowing with baits most of which hardly get used. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get the rest of my tackle that sits on a shelf in the bag. I have 7 setups I use consistently, each one is setup for certain baits. I have my go to baits tied on each of those rods. When I am fishing I rarely if ever cut off one bait to tie on another, I just switch rods until I find whats working that day. I don't know why I even bring my bag with me it usually just takes up space in the boat. I guess I'm addicted to fishing tackle. ;D
  18. If that was my only setup I would go with flouro because it can used for every fishing situation. I love braid on my jig rod because of its sensitivity, but IMPO it's no good for power fishing presentations like crankbaits and other treble hook lures.
  19. Yes it is just a recommendation for what size line to use on spinning reels too. If you want a spinning reel that would hold a lot of 17# test you would need a 4000 series or larger spinning reel.
  20. X2 But if you are really looking for a reel that will hold a lot of heavier line here it is: http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SHC47.html
  21. A black yamamoto creature bait has never let me down. It's the one thing I can usually count on if the bite is slow.
  22. I think the same way. I know some people swear by scents and others don't. I've had some carolina lunker sauce for over a year and I think I've used it five times. I just forget to use it, when I do use it I don't seem to catch any more fish. The lunker sauce I have is made for hardbaits like cranks, but the one question I've had has been if you put crawfish scent on a crankbait that looks like a shad wouldn't the bass be weary? I don't know maybe I'm just over analyzing things.
  23. It's my favorite shallow crankbait.
  24. KevO replied to mferris's topic in Fishing Tackle
I could never get it to swim right. It never walked the dog it just kinda pulled straight back to the boat.
  25. I've got three Crucials and one Carrot Stix. For $150 either one is hard to beat.
