Citica Question
i love my citicas. what i do is i will always have the two opposite brake weights (pink pieces) pulled out and the rest in. then i will adjust the spool tension knob (located on the other side of the reel next to the drag) so that when i click into freespool the lure will slowly fall to the ground. oh and btw, if you cant decide between citica and revo, get the citica...you wont be disappointed .

Could anyone use these?

Exploring the Split Grip Advantages further?
i love split grips. that being said: i DONT think that they add to sensitivity i DONT think that they noticably reduce weight and i TOTALLY DONT think they increase casting distance :-? that statement by the st. croix dude was 97% marketing 3% truth. the only way i could see that design giving you any more distance would be that the grip design "forces" you to hold the rod all the way down by the butt (unless you're weird and hold the blank while you cast). holding the rod this way could give you a tiny bit more leverage, but not much to make it a selling point. just marketing. IMO.

300,000 Miles
my dad's old rinky dink nissan had 200,000 on it. that thing was a major piece of junk. the pleather was torn to shreds on the seats, it was all dinged up, there was a big smash mark where someone backed into him, it had been thru several mufflers, he even ducktaped the sude mirror on cuz it fell off! he sold it shortly after the 200,000 mile mark for 800 bucks.

New Paintjob--Water Drops
learned this new technique a few days ago. looks really sweet. i havent put it on a lure yet but here is a photo of a sample i did on a piece of clear packing tape. lemme know what you think: i plan on painting a lure bright blue and then applying this paintjob over it. the paintjob would be more intended for "show" than to attract fish, but the lure will be fishable. so what do you guys think?

hey i havent been on in a day so i missed this post. it is a bill lewis mini trap (1/4 oz). it doesnt have raised eyes or the fin because i sanded them off to make it easier to apply the finish. i really hope you do get some nice fish on it. be sure to take some pictures too!

Repair plastic baits with a lighter?
not much at all. a little bit sticks to it but burns off in seconds.

Repair plastic baits with a lighter?
yeah i've made some really crazy and big baits out of several torn up baits. i prefer to use a wood burning tool instead of a heated piece of metal. i find it much easier cuz the wood burner never cools off like a heated paperclip would. you can buy wood burners at wal mart for 8 bucks. i dont think they have battery powered ones though, mine plugs into the wall.

new hologram 3D stickbaits
lol. i should have known. first thing i noticed about the pic is that i had seen the fish hologram before. ah, here it is: http://www.ingvar.is/Plants/Amerio/Herring.JPG oh and here it is again: http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/hard-baits/7671-photo-finishing-foil-faux-finishes-tutorial.html both those photos were takin right off the internet. but since you made it seem like this was a "Garage Bait" that somebody cooked up, i figured they probably used the internet pic. nice elaborate prank mr. zel but even if they were real i wouldnt buy them >

Fishing Buddy Boat
i cant remember the show i saw this on....it was on the VS channel. there were these two pros were having a competetion in a shallow cove to see who could catch the most "perch" on them in 5 minutes. they were catching bluegills and calling them perch :-? i thought that was pretty dumb of them. but it looks like great fun for bluegills and panfish and stuff, but idk about bass fishing with one! love to see a 8lb bass get ahold of one of those! ;D there are some pretty good youtube videos of this boat in action against some bass too. they caught a bass that looked about 15 inches long and it was tugging that boat underwater!

What's up with this photo ???
a great point! for example, we all know that Mac Weakly caught and released that 25.1lb bass out at Dixon Lake. wellllllllllll, in the pic that we are all familiar with, Mac's buddy, Mike Winn is holding the fish, not Mac. with that being said, those photos are some AMAZING BASS!!! i really have no contribution to the controversy, i dont care who's bass those are and where they came from because they are awesome! my view on this: lets not try to put down others' great catches and instead, lets admire them! George Perry's 22.4 is still in the books and it will be till someone beats it. nuff said :-X

new hologram 3D stickbaits
big ole' waste of money!!!! save your money. that bait is not worth it for two reasons: 1.) you can barely see the hologram in it. 2.) its not much different than a regular stick w/ holo flakes. but if you MUST have some, do what i do: if i like something, but dont want to pay for it, i will try my best to mimick it myself at least cost possible, and quite often it works. the fish dont care much either. if i wanted those, i would take some prism tape, stick two pieces back to back. cut it in the little fish shape, cut a slot in the worm, stick the tape in there, and then seal the slot back up with a woodburner or any heated piece of metal really.

turned it in today and the teacher graded it: 49/50 which is the equivalent of a 98%. i guess that is the best i can possibly do because this is the teacher that has NEVER given out a hundred. she kept it to put on display, im not sure when i get it back but im gonna make sure i do get it back.

Pickerel problem--too many lures gone
yeah thats a whole different kind of pike (i think). its called the Baltic Pike. im not sure if the exact one in the photo is a Baltic Pike, but i know they exist, they are in Europe and they grow much larger than out Northen Pike. i did some research on it the first time i saw that photo a whilel ago!

yup you sure are the lucky member and i sent it out this morning by the way im not sure what the hooks are, they are the stock hooks that came on the bait. you could change em if you like cuz i hear the stock hooks are pretty crappy (i havent really used bill lewis traps before so i dont know what the hooks are like). and you better throw it . payment for this lure is a picture of a nice smallie that fell for the bait ;D. formulagamble, i have not fished with it, as it is not mine. ask Davis in a few weeks when his waters get warmer and he can fish with it!
