Good call. I bet he appreciated getting lectured by strangers that know nothing about him though... x2 The young lad seems like a good fellow. My mom usually vacuums the house without any of my help. Now, if she would ask me or something, I would gladly help. Cajun said it best: Schmidt happens yeah she vacuums the house but if she asked me to do stuff i will do it. i do other thigns around the house, but i dont vacuum. like i said i dont really think it was anybodys fault. but from the looks of it i might be able to sand down the tip of the rod and somehow either get the remaining portion of rod out of the tip top guide or just get a new tip top guide and repair the rod taht way.

tin2win is right...dinks on UL are a great fight. at one of the farms i fish, there are big bass in the back pond and small to medium bass in the front but huge bluegill in the front. so i'll always have an UL in the front pond and no matter what i hook it feels like a lunker!

you can also just hook it thru the middle. you can really hook it however you like. hook it with the claws facing forward and tell us how it works! lol

i dont even remember the last time i had a dream....let alone a nightmare. i do remember when i was 3 or 4 i had a repeating nightmare. i was in a maze and there was a pink saber tooth tiger chasing me and there was no exit in the maze and i'd get to the end and he'd always get me each time. every time i had that dream i'd go sleep in my parents bed. :-/

im not familiar with those baits mentioned and i dont know what actions they have, but i do know the pop-r. it makes a loud, deep, bloop noise, and you can shave the lower lip down so its not as "cupped" and that will cause it to spit more and make a more faint pop sound. is that the action you want?

thats the thing. if it was 100% her fault im sure i'd have a new fly rod now....but it was a little of both our faults so i dont know what is to come...i guess i'll just be stuck without a fly rod.

dang that sucks. i'd be very mad if that happened to me. like hookemdown ive seen many empty lure boxes at walmart or other stores. mainly the nice ones...rapalas. im gonna check my stuff from now on

so the other week i was taking all my rods in for the winter (dont leave grahpite in the cold) and i took my fly rod down into 3 pieces so i i could store it. well i left the reel on the rod, i just took it apart and reeled in the slack line. well there was still a little bit of leader hanging off the tip top guide onto the floor. well my mom was vacuuming my room and she sucked up that bit of leader and it pulled the upper third of my rod into the vacuum with it it chewed up the tip real bad. so right now im minus one fly rod. i was very disappointed when i found out, cuz she told me she sucked up the line when it happened, but i didnt know that the rod went too untill last night when i saw the shattered tip. :-/

i have a theory and it has worked well for me. my theory: go realistic. i dont care if the water is crystal clear or muddy as hell. no matter what the water clarity, baitfish will always be baitfish and will always look like baitfish. so if you always closely mimic baitfish, the bass will think it is naturall and will just go for it. i will never go gaudy for any reason. the most i'll do is maybe fish a crank that has a slight rattle, or a little metallic flash, thats because the real baitfish are metallic, and the rattle just helps bass hone in on the lure. never will you see me throwing a bright firetiger or florescent orange crankbait. more than 80% of the cranks i throw are tennessee shad or gizzard shad or shiner colored. just another perspective to try

paul i really hate seeing that frowny next to your post! id do anything right now for 16 dinks. actually, for me, 16 dinks is a very good day. one of my best days was 18 dinkish fish (biggest probably 2lbs) dont be a "greedy basser" and only consider a good day a day where you catch a few big ones. be glad that you can be on the water : anyway, good job! its good how you can adapt to the fish's needs to catch a few in hard conditions. keep it up man! and that is a very pretty bass

wow thats great. i remember my first bass. it was one of eight that day. i have pics (disposable camera) and havent gotten around to taking digital pics of em to post on here. i hope to oneday make a thread about my first day of bass fishing...it was amazing. how many did you catch on your first day? you should keep a log of how many bass you catch in your first year!
