  1. well said my friend, i liek the way you wrote that but i hate live bait, and would never go back maybe craw fish, iv never fished them before
  2. can anyone give me the run down on reading the water without elkectronics iv noticed calm areas and areas that the wind makes swell..... anyone know the abc's of reading the top of the water looking for depth?
  3. so you did wel in PA???? guess its gotta be me in like what you say hunter, start slow steady, im gonna have to give it a go thanks for the help, keep it coming if anything comes to mind
  4. Also, iu always use a slow retrive with pauses, but ondemand fishing the guy was burning his topwater??? is this how its done?
  5. Iv never caught anything on a topwater bait around her unl;ess it was a crappie on a bumble bee floater i meen, when iw as a kid maybe in a small pond, but never in a lake i try a hula popper and a couple frogs every couple weeks and always come up empty, is the hulapopper too big of a lure for my size bass? the way people talk on here, buzzbaits and such seem like everyday lures whats the deal? am i being dumb, anyone from the NE have a lot of luck on these things
  6. i know what your going through man my senko fishing days are up, i was averagiong about 5 bass an outing (about 2 hours) on senkos, but for the last 4 months havnt gotten one on a senko heres what i did.....what the guy said, a curveball....and i was IN YOUR EXACT SHOES try a yamomoto kreature weightless with a 3/0 or 4/0 hook....try weightless if thats your thing and just let it hit the bottom, and pick it up, let it fall or you could let it sit on the bottom for 15-20 secs, and slowly tip your rod up iv caught a couple after i brought the kreature up to the surfice, just high enough to peirce the top of the water, and let it fall Try a spider jig if you want a little more weight, fish it the same, but maybe a little slower try a tube bait, hook it through the nose, and let it fall and sit......iv been having tubes getting picked up while sitting still on the bottom about a min or so after the cast Spinners are great, but for me, they are very off and on, not as consistant as soft plastic Also, stay away from senkos for the rest of the season, make it your goal to catch a variety of fish with a variety of bait next season, dont use anything too much and you will have a nice variety of lures to catch fish with....remmeber not to overuse anything, especially in the same area over and over again DONT GET FRUSTRATED AND START REELING IN TOO FAST,......take your time, youll get over it also, dont discredit really shallow water close to the shore, iv had some big ones grab it while i was lifting it out of the water lately
  7. road warrier, why dont you keep smallies??? because they are caught less???

  10. yeah, well im lucky, at least im in the suburbs a 40 min drive gets me to scotts run lake at french creek a 30 min drive gets me to marsh creek and this place- called the spring resevour is about 20 mins..... so i had 3 good opotions...now im down to 2..some people fish the schukill river, and the susky, but thats not really my style, woulndt know where to start most of the guys around here fish trout mostly in ridley creek, and valley forge.....only a couple guys fish bass...
  11. just a quick panfry with some qhite wine and viniger sauce...lemon, ect. just learned the right way to clean them and the fillets came out great
  12. i KNEW YOUR GUYS WOULD CATCH ME..... :-[ yes, i kept her, but where i fished her they are closing the fishing the end of this season for good....*** if you ASK ME, the party has come to an end..... i dont mind keeping a fish on the last outing of the year,,,,,especially if i kept only 3 all year if you guys cant see how part of the joy of fishing is every once in while keeping a fish that your proud of, cleaning the fish, and cooking yourself a nice auromic dinner then we are on different pages.... to me, thats a part of fishing (sorry, i guess im getting a little defensive) By the way, 6 lb test probably more like a 5 min fight, but the way the fish kept swimming parralell to the shoreline, it was a quite fight THANKS FOR THE COMPS
  13. Heres another pic..... i wish i had a camera all year, its nice being able to look back....
  14. catch and release just feels good, but sometimes its nice to feed yourself the oldfashioned way
  15. Ok i know, 3 lbs is nothing but over here in philly, this is a pretty descent fish.....fought him for 10 minutes he walked me halfway down the shoreline..... if you know me, you know i always lose any fish oevr 3lbs......finally got this guy in got him on a watermelon colored tube bait, weightless, nosehooked with a 3/0 texposer
  16. Every now and then i will keep a fish *end of season, and over 2lbs..... *Crappie slabs Only in a large, well populated lake.... put it like this.... I caught about 60 fish this year....i kept 2 largemouth about 2lbs each, 1 smallmouth little over 3lbs, and 4 crappie...
  17. i noticed some weird pricing at wallmart some of the stuff was only ringing out at a buck when it retailed at 4.99-5.99 makes up for the millions iv spent
  18. my favorite part of fishing is kleeping a big bass from jumping i had a huge bass, would have been the biggest i got in, tryed to jump 3 seperate times, i kept him down each time..... finally, i get his head out of the water and he was huge, easily 4-5 lbs...in philly thats HUGE.... anyway, he broke free when i got his head out of the water, i almost jumped in after him in my shoes!./...he was close enought to grab, but i lost him almost cryed
  19. IS THAT WHAT I SAW THE OTHER NIGHT!!!! jesus, i thought it was some alien fishing after dark.....me and my girl were actually scared after a while, kept seeing this red light walking all over the shore line.....
  20. definately, but 4 bucks a cast will always tick me off!!! i gotta l;earn how to keep my **** longer.....i went through a whole pack of spider jogs in less than an hour

  23. Some guy was trying to tell me white worms is the way to go in the fall....i didnt buy it these tackle shops like to sell the lures they dont sell to people looking for ideas...... white seems good becausse it can probably be seen easily while you fish it, i like being able to see my lure.....
  24. OK, you get one specific lure for the rest of your life......... (color, size, ect) this will be the only lure you can ever, and will ever, use again.... WHAT WOULD IT BE???? ME- 5" senko "Mad melon" with 3/0 texposer hook iv had dryspells with the senko, but overral, thats what id fish......just another Senko user.....but its the truth
  25. ok now i feel better...... i was actually catching them on a craw only, after i lost that one..... i never had any luck, and then BAM, 3 in a row on a yamomoto crawdad with just a Texposer hook...weightless.... the action i was getting was pretty impressive, flippping around like a real craw....... i never had much faith in them things, got them on sale for 3 bucks...
