The Fall Bite(or lack therof)
over in the philly area, it is still almost summer weather and also almost november? i think the temps are throwing the fish off....they dont know that winter is so close btw the gorging of minnows is true, even for the tiny bass just look for the bass's head to flash, thats them eating minnows....when they open their mouth the silver flashes.....simular to a distressed baitfish, but the difference is noticable

I dont get the big bite :(
if your not worrying about the "where"..... then i would say this: SLOWER IS BETTER, especially for the big ones..... at least, thats how its been for me in PA my 3 best fish this year (nothing too specialy, but big for these waters) were caught on soft plastics that were on the bottom sitting for a little bit these fish i didnt even know where on....untill i pulled back one i was lighting a ciggerett, when i picked the rod up BAM another was when i was taking a picture of the lake....... take your mind off it, and try it slower and stiller than usual

RIVER FISHING UPDATE-Thanks Davis, ect.
So after hearing what a few of you had to say, i went back to the schukill yesterday, and caught my first RIVER SMALLIE!!! it was only about a pound and a half, but the fact that i caught it literly 2 mins from my job made it worth it. i tryed the power worm that davis suggested and on 3rd cast i got a nice one in....i only stayed about 25 mins so i only caught one, but i am phsycked.....i can literly fish on my ride home from work!!! and i did pretty well with the low water, imagine when that water comes back up!! i fished it with a homemade drop shot (i used abullet weight with a knot.,...lol) anyway, what you guuys said is right, they wait their by the moving water for prey to come through THANKS guys IM ONE HAPPY GUY NOW, fishing within 5 mins, in the philly area, TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

Big Largemouth Bass too aggresive. Any suggestions
have you tryed the "Robo-Gill"??? its basicly a free swimming robotic bluegill, and they have a sunfish colored one too built to help pond owners with this same problem.... anyway, its motorized, has razor blades as fins, and provides a 20 watt electro shock to anything it touches..... that will teach those bass to mind their manners.....

HELP ME! First time river fishing.....
ok, i just realized, after usually driving 30 mins to my spots, that the Schukill river is literly on my way home from work.... So i went yesterday.....heres the deal: it was about 11:30am The first spot i walked down to was shallow as hell.....under 3 ft.....the moving water in the middle looked deep, but the shallow part was still......i am on foot....so i cant cast far enough into the deep part their was also vegitation so bad i couldnt use many lures.... after fishing for a about a half an hour, i moved to my right (upstreem) and noticed a school of 2-4 lb bass,.....BIG BASS FOR MY PARTS!! about 6 of them so i now i knew they were their......so i cast into the school with a nice green bouya jig with an uncle tom pork trailor......i get one bass to bite, but not really a submitting bite because my attempt to set the hook just pulled it out of its mouth so eventually i dont see them anymore and i move down streem now i wam about 200 ft downstreem from the faster moving water and i am neer a rocky bottom.....and little smallies are EVERYWHERE they were all too small to be hooked except for like 2 of them..... then i see a huge fish.....dark in color, easily 6 lbs or more.....at first i thought it was a carp, but when it actually followed my lure, i thoguht maybe it was a giant smallie? couldbnt really tell,,,,,either way i fished and fished but never got anything in here is what i need help with WHat kind of lures to use? i fished mostly jigs, but tryed senkos, tubes, and spinners for a minute anything that is very different about fishing rivers? would a carp be near moving water? any tips for shallow water? I might go out on my lunch break, so i can tell you how i make out.... thanks...

Name 1 thing you learned
Timing is key, i remember someobody answered a post, "Why were you even fishing during the day?" that made me think, hes right......5-9 is the time to catch fish.....at least at my lakes, so why go during the day??? for frustration?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another poster gave me the 13 second rule. with senkos and plastics.....let it sit on the bottom for 13 seconds.....before that, i never let them sit like that......my bigge4st bass this year was after the bait sat on the bottom for over a minute ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everybody on here has done a great jopb teaching me jigs....finally caught a couple on them the other day....jig and pig...i did ok ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- oh darn......you said one thing, didnt you?

Warning: You Might Get Your Arm Broke!
RW, these guys love you!!.....the minute you mention the Kreature it is all of a sudden the bait everybody wants to use! I love the kreature bait.....LOVE THE SLOW FALL, LOVE THE ACTION WHEN ITS STILL, LOVE THE SKIPPING, VERY DURABLE COmPARED TO OTHER GYCB,,,,,except the top arms get pulled off by tiny bass and panfish often.... easily my favorite creature/grub, plastic spider ect i always fish thenm weightless though, just rig em exposed like a plastic worm and lift em up and let them fall lately iv gotta say, these kreatures arent drawing the strikes they were. i gotta slow down fishing them i guess tore it up in a pond with these about a week ago
