Hello all. I have fished the last three afternoons on the Potomac out of Pohick. I have caught 30 plus total in about 3 hours each day. Pretty good results for me. All fish have been on the grass edges (inside and out depending on wind direction). All fish on traps and top water. Bite has not slowed enough for me to switch to plastics yet. Locations have been mt Vernon and the creek across from it. Any other reports???

only spot i can think of within walking distance is lake accotink. very shallow body of water but fishing is fishing!!!

how much is the ultra at sports authority?

SCAM!!! I just bought an 86' ranger 370v for d**n near the same price. complete scam. Rangers hold their value.

I personally do not think there is an equal to yo zuri ultra soft. I am sure a few will post a few options to consider. I can not find it locally either. I order mine from Cabela's. 600 yard spools for around $12. Hard to beat that.

nice. what section on clist did you use? I find a few items under sporting goods but that is rare.

Dan mentioned the renal areas. As far as tackle shops...I think the best in the area is Dicks Sporting goods in Fairfax. It has a decent selection. In fact they have the largest fishing section of any Dicks in VA. Not a true tackle shop but will probably suffice.

i would buy whatever you chose on eBay instead of bps. i saved close to 200 on my last two units.

tons of options... jigs Texas rig craws, beavers, worms, brush hogs, etc... weightless kreatures, ikas, flukes shaky head w/ any of the above that should get you started. good luck.

I have a hb 565 and a hb 788ci. I love them both. In my opinion the 565 is the best non color unit and the 788 is the best color/gps w/o side imaging.

everyone will have a different opinion...that being said here are my choices spinner baits-strike king bleeding series 1/2 ounce in white, white/chart. and white/red (double willow) jigs-GMAN custom jigs (he is a member here as well). I personally use finesse jigs most of the time in black, black/blue, brown and watermelon. I use netbait and rage baits as trailers. good luck

When I changed mine I found that most were size 2,4 and 6. I would slide the old hook almost off the split ring and attach the new one before fully taking the old one off. It makes it much easier to get the new one on this way.

Fished the Potomac with a buddy this afternoon. Grass near Mount Vernon, creek across from it and the Washington Channel. Had a good afternoon. 12 in the boat. Lost 3 more at the boat. One of those was d**n near 5 lbs. Text book fish too. Threw a Texas rigged rage craw on a piling. bounced it twice down a shelf and it took off. reeled down and popped it (or so i thought). She made two jumps and threw the hook. 2 of the 12 were smallies. My first small mouth on the river too! All fish were off senkos, flukes, and spinners. Heading out tomorrow too. Post more tomorrow night.

Most came off the grass with senkos, spinnerbaits and flukes. Did you go out? Are you heading out this weekend?
