  5. Hello all. I am in the market for my first bass boat. Ideally I would like to keep it under 4k. I have been checking craigslist and ebay regularly. Craigslist seems the way to go thus far. Any other places I should be looking into? Any recommendations in that price range. From reading other posts it appears as though many recommend trackers. I am finding a lot of rangers from the mid 80's. Would that be a good fit? I aslo see a lot of Winners. Anything in particular to look out for when buying a used boat? I appreciate any advice. Thanks. 6. Ill try using 6 this afternoon and tension knob set loose. Hope this helps.
  7. I set my spool tension knob the same way. I do use the mag brakes as well. I guess that is where my problem lies. Although if that is the problem why does a backlash occur. Wouldn't extra brakes help prevent a backlash. My backlash problems seem to occur at the start of the cast if that helps any. Thanks.
  8. Hello all. I have a horrible time casting my new Patrairch. I do not understand why. I am able to cast all of my revo STX's well. I realize they use different breaking systems (patrairch has a combo of the two). Everything I have read has indicated that the patrairch "should" be easier to cast when compared to the stx. I have tried everything from two brakes to all the brakes on and still no luck. I am guessing it is the combo of brakes that I can not get dialed in. Any suggestions??? Thanks.
  9. I tried them the other day and did not like the action at all. I even used RW's recommendations (Gary's too) and still did not like the action. Will give them another shot soon before I make final decision.
  10. I have the same problems. I am sure RW will chime in shortly and offer his tips. He loves this bait.
  11. Thanks for the heads up. I just picked up 20 packs or so for 2.75!!! I also snagged a few packs of various paddle tail swimbaits for less than $5 a pack. cant go wrong with that. Thanks again.
  12. yea mine is too. just no rage baits!!! i did get a great deal on a pair of costa del mar glasses...
  13. which boaters world has them? i checked the springfield store and have never seen them there.
  14. amber is always a safe bet.
  15. d**n...I guess now I have to stop by Boaters World (for the 6th time) for their going out of business sale. Wish me luck.
  16. I have never had a problem with my hook keeper. In fact it's perfect for drop shot rigs!!!
  17. check out GMAN's jigs. He is a member on this forum. He offers great custom baits and exceptional customer service.
  18. I have the same rod. Simply amazing. My buddy tried mine out for a few mins. and was hooked as well. Amazing a 7'6" H can be so light! Enjoy it.
  19. There is a noticable difference when compared to avids (as expected) and carrots in my opinion. I think they make for a nice crank rod. Carrots can be found on ebay for around 110 new. That puts the price point much closer to the mojo. Good luck .
  20. what kind of rod???
