  1. Doesn't look like a bad boat, I would try to talk down a little from that price, water test it and take it to your mechanic and have it looked over. If the owner doesn't want you to water test or have a mechanic inspect I would steer clear. Most imporantly though, its your money and if you think you are getting a good deal and you are happy with it, then who can tell you otherwise.

  5. Not to make fun of people from the north, but I was on a pier one summer and we were catching spanish mackeral one after the other one. There was a guy from Jersey whom my buddy and I had been chatting with and he asked us how to fish for them, we basically told him how to fish for them. He eventually caught one and went to give it a Jimmy Houston kiss and it latched on to his top lip. Ripped it to shredds. It was awful but one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
  6. If everything goes right, I will have one next month and I will post some pics and a review after some trips. I tnink it is a pretty neat boat and will save a bunch on gas. I plan on going next weekend to their showroom and trying it out in their indoor pool.
  7. Props to you guys for doing the right thing. Maybe its just me, but I thought it was a law to stop and help people in need on the water. I may be wrong about that, but either way you two have some karma on your side, maybe next time that bullfrog will be a hawg.
  8. Congrats, and hopefully many more to come.
  9. I am having some trouble catching fish in the ponds local to my house. I went to my parents house and fished in my cousins pond and had very good success. The ponds here I believe are just heavily pressured, but are the only choices I have without my boat within 30-45 min. I have had some success with some shad raps right during the fall/winter transition, and I caught a 3 pder last July on a wacky rigged senko. But the bites are very sporadic. Really the only cover the pond has is around the banks , there is about 2ft of grass cover coming off the banks and a few bushes overhanging the edges. My confidence bait has recently became a finesse wrom on a spot remover jig head. At first I thought I was doing something wrong with my presentation, but after fishing back at my cousins pond and having such a good week catching fish I think that its the pressure that the local ponds are under. My question is, what advice do you all have that I may use to coerce these fish into biting. There are some decent fish in this pond ( 6-7pds) and I get really frustrated at them getting skunked time after time. If you can name it I have probably thrown it, some stuff has worked, but not often. I would appreciate any advice you all may have. Thanks.
  10. The boat will be fine in the water for the week. I live on the coast of NC and had my boat in the water for long periods. Be sure to flush the motor down well and fog it afterward. Do the same for your trailer .
  11. This company is within 10 min of my parents and I saw an add in the local paper. What do you guys think? http://www.twintrollerboats.com/
  12. My son has the Wii and we got him the Mario Kart for his birthday and thats fun I will play it with him every now and then.
  13. Yeah that seems like a while, but I had my drag set way too loose and I had about 30 ft to go. Thanks I am gettting comfortable with the plastics.
  14. Sorry for the delay in the pics, I am at my mom and dads house and they don't have the software for my camera, I am leaving here in a few hours and will post the rest tonight. This morning I got out with my cousin about 9am, so far this week I have caught about 55 bass with the most of them being dinks. I caught the 2 pounder the other day and that was it until today. I was throwing a 1/4 oz spot remover in green pumpkin color with a green pumpkin zoom finesse worm. I saw bass busting the banks so I walked down and waited about 5 min and threw out. BAM my line goes crazy, and I use a sweeping hookset. This fish feels really nice. It surfaces and I see the biggest bucket mouth that I have ever hooked. It took me about 5 min to get this girl to the bank. I weigh her and she is exactly 5 pds woohoo a new pb. This is a great 4th. I also want to add that I respooled my reels yesterday with Stren Super Knot in 10 and 8 pd test and the stuff is remarkable for a inexpensive mono. I am stoked and looking forward to tommorow. I know now that I need to get my hookset down because I had a lot of fish spit the hook this week. I am glad that I can share this joy with you guys. I have just stopped shaking now. ;D The pic above is of the my pb, I will post the pics of the rest tonight. Sorry the pic sucks it is off my cell phone.
  15. Went to my cousins pond this morning with my wife for a few hours. I started off with a blck/blue spinner. The first hour the fishing was really slow. About 915 I caught my first bass, a dink about 8 inches long. I kept fishing the spinner by beating the banks around the pond and ended up catching 4 bass on the spinner, the biggest about 12 inches. Then I switched to a 1/4oz spot remover with a zoom junebug finesse worm doused in carolina lunker sauce. Now I haven't had much luck with plastics in the past, but today it was just on. I caught 5 more bass on the plastic with the biggest weighing 2pd 3oz. I made one cast up against the bank and got a bite, went to set the hook and the line just snapped. I also had two fish spit the hook, that felt much bigger than the 2 pounder. I am heading back out this evening for a few hours and will post pics afterward. I am just glad that I am catching fish. The ponds where I live are over fished and tough to get a bite. So this lets me know that maybe I am not doing things too wrong. Overall I caught 9 bass and 1 bream ( on the spinner) and my wife caught a mess of crappie in about 3 hours. I love the dog days of summer.
  16. My mom and dad have a spot in Avon, they get Swedes and Norwegians every summer on a work porgram. If you think the days are good you should hit a party or two at night. I can't do it anymore though since I am married. Oh the good ole days. I spent a many of nights on Avon pier, "If they swim, they're here".
  17. I am waiting for them to say " Get this reel for $5.95 with the purchase of this $200 shirt."
  18. Honestly I get skunked more than I catch, I fish 3 ponds on base that are heavily fished. I have a lot of tackle and should probably stick to 3 or 4 baits, but after a few minutes of nothing I switch. I am going with my son in the morning and hope not to get skunked, but the reason I go is for the experience. I do seem to have better luck when I get out on bigger lakes.
  19. I have gone there about this time of year for the past 5 years. Rocky points in about 6ft of water are good. I usually fished Nutbush Creek. If you can get back into the coves in the early am and sunset you can see schools of stripers crashing bait on the surface, have some bucktails and spoons ready if you like stripers. I have also had luck in the middle of the day fishing from the bank, I have caught some 2-3 pounders at midday in less than 2ft of water. Good luck to you, you are lucky we were unable to find a spot at our usual campground there this year as most of the locals are staying at the lake instead of other vacation spots due to gas prices. Also, do a google search for " kerr lake bass fishing" you can get some decent second hand info from that board on the lake. If you post a question there don't get upset if you dont get a response though. They seem tightlipped amongst those who they don't know.
  20. I was one of these people that all of the above speak of. I greatly apologize to all that I may have put out. I know many of you may not think much of myself as a man, but I hope that you can forgive me and accept my sincere apology. I will no longer make plans of this until I know for sure that I can attend, and I will not involve anyone other than myself if I do make plans. Once again I sincerely apologize and hope that with time I can be forgiven.
  21. I am not sure of any weekly rentals in those areas, I know of a few near Kerr lake, which is on the NC/VA border. I have family in the area of Falls/Harris/Jordan and will ask them. I know if we don't get a little more rain before Spring fishing in Jordan will be rough.
  22. Well after being in a career school for the past 3 weeks, they gave us a little bit of break today and let us out early. The weather was great compared to the past week between here and VA. Anyways, I asked Andrew if he wanted to go and try his new spiderman pole that he got for Christmas. He was all about it. He even had to help load the truck up. On the way there he fell asleep, so dad had a little bit to fish. I was throwing a x-rap that my sis got me and caught one dink. After that I couldn't stand it anymore I woke him up and boy was he excited. I rigged him up with a #4 hook and a night crawler and it was on. I helped him toss it out and let it sit. The hardest thing with a two year old is getting him to just let a cork sit, but after a while the cork goes under. I help him set the hook and make sure the fish is on. His smile lights up and he starts to reeling. Get the fish up on the bank and its a shell cracker all of about 4 oz, but looking at the smile on his face you would have thought it was a world record bass. I take a few snap shots of the fish and ask him if he wants to put it back. Before I can get it all out he chunks the fish back in the water. We stick around a few more minutes with just a few nibbles and I decide to call it a day. From the advice of one of the members here ( I can't remember who ) I took him by the C-store for his choice of a candy. The best part was when he got home and told mom that he caught a fish. She asked him how big and he holds his arms apart about three feet. It was awesome. I think he really enjoyed it and I am looking forward for the next time. I can't find my USB cable right now but as soon as I do I will post some pics.
  23. When I was just a young Pvt out of boot camp I met Randy the by god Macho Man savage in the LAX airport. I passed him in the p-way and said " is that" before I could get it all out of my mouth he turned around ready to sign something. Really down to earth guy.
  24. I saw "Super Bad" as well, pretty good mindless humor. Makes me want to change my screen name to " McLovin" HotRod was stupid and a waste of 2 hours.

I got the red ring of death, before that I had a problem with it reading games, dvd's were fine but games took about 10 tries to get them to work. I won't complain much it was a late Xmas present in 06 when I got back from Iraq, besides me burning it up, my young ones didn't know what a dvd player was after I got it and they played movies on it everyday. They are fixing it and standing behind their product, to me thats a good deal.
