  1. Come on down, we can head out to the stream during the day for wahoo, kings and hopefully a bill fish or two, and at night maybe hook into a good 250pd Sand Tiger. It's a blast.
  2. When I was 14 we were fishing of the pier at the OBX for sharks at night. We had one guy that would kayak out the baits about 400 yds off the end of the pier. One guy forgot to free spool his reel and the guy took a 12/0 hook through his calf, we rushed him to the hospital and they had to cut it out. That is by far the worst injury that I have personally seen. On a side note though, I have been told by friends who have seen guys take treble hooks to the eyes when king mack fishing. Always wear some sort of eye protection.
  3. Jimmy, How far from Jacksonville are you, I haven't had any good Brunswick stew in a while, just that crap that Smithfields calls b -stew.
  4. Oh yeah, I left one thing out. NEVER ask your friends if they want to come over and play with your wii, it leaves a lot to be questioned. ;D
  5. I got my son one last year for Xmas, I have to admit it is fun and I play it with him a lot. It does kinda get old after the new wears off, and right now I wouldn't pay the prices some people are asking for it. Here in NC they are selling for $4-500, they are next to impossible to find in the retail/electronic store, and those who do have them are asking a arm and a leg for them. If you could wait until Jan the $250 would def be worth it.
  6. Why did this have to happen in NC. I saw the interview today and the lady said " he jumped of the mans shoulder and I reached out to pet him, I didn't even know I had been bitten until I rubbed my face and saw blood." Then later today they said she picked that monkey out of a line up. I would hate to be the cops in Reidsville.
  7. Thanks RW, I was just wondering due to some of the regs in my home state, for instance in the boat is 16ft or more you are required a throw cushion. Signaling devices can get tricky, some spots require flares while others only a whistle. I am good with the all around basic things, but just wanted to make sure that there are no specifics other than those.
  8. Thanks guys, I will try the RS version and the DT3 cranks, the pond is really weird to me, the majority of it is like fishing the flats, and then by the drainage area, its like a bowl with a max depth of about 12 ft. With the temps dropping the past few days all of the fish ( as far as I can tell) have moved off the flats into the bowl area. All of the fish I caught were suspended in 5ft or less, well excuse me thats were the strikes happened. I was really exited today, because I finally for once understood the condition and what to expect from it. On a side note, how does water temps affect suspending baits? I think thats interesting and a good bit of knowledge to have.
  9. I know every states requirements can be different, what exactly are Alabamas requirements for required equipment to maintain on a boat. I would hate to ruin a fun week of fishing and fellowship by breaking a law due to ignorance. I will research as much as possible and post, but maybe some locals could help us out.
  10. I will have my boat, my wife will be going, but I can comfortably fish 3. Thanks for that reminder Mike, I have a few questions, but will ask in another thread.
  11. Today I went out fishing during my lunch break. I was throwing a sr-5 shad colored, shad rap. I was jerking it to get it 3-4ft below the surface. Then twitching it and letting it sit for a few seconds then a small jerk and twitch and repeating. I was able to catch 4 bass in about 45 minutes this way, nothing to speak of the biggest was about 12 in. My question with the baits is, should I continue this or should I go purchase some suspending jerk baits? With the temps dropping for the past few days the fish are holed up in the deepest parts of the pond, so I know where the fish are. On one side I have the feeling of, if you have this working why switch and on the other I feel a jerk bait would require less effort to keep at that depth and get the action that works. Thanks
  12. Man, Sorry for you loss, I am really bothered that this is becoming a common occurance in todays society. I saw a news clip on CNN where a lady in Fl. had her lawn decorations stolen, and what they couldn't steal the ruined. It's a crying shame that some people can't stand it for someone else to have something.
  13. I have a couple of ?'s about jigs. What size jigs are good for learning. I have watched LBH jig video and have read the articles here. I have tried a few jigs for about a month off and on now with no sucess. I really want to learn this technique. I think the jigs would work good for the pond I fish. It has a lot of rocks, and all the other baits that were working the past month or so have died out for me. I know I am not going to be able to go out tomorrow and flip one out and smack a hawg, but I really have no clue what I am doing right or wrong.
  14. I guess I have a favor to ask for the trip. My wife is going with me and pretty much the only thing she knows of fishing is drowning a worm or a minnow. We are paired up for the week, but I was wondering if for a day someone could take her out and teach her some stuff, she gets frustrated with me. I would be able to take someone out with me, I would actually let someone take me out on my boat and maybe show me some things as I am still in the puppy stages of bass fishing. I would appreciate it, if this could be accomidated. I think the both of us would have a better time this way. Thanks Jeremy
  15. I don't know I think I could watch Rolands advertising rather than hearing Shaw Grigsby squeall like a little girl one more time. :
  16. My dad has an escape, its a good vehicle to tow with for a V-6. I think he gets around 25-27 highway miles and it has decent power.
  17. I hope the Steelers pull it off, it depends on which Steelers team comes out to play. If they have a showing like they did against the Jets, you can hang it up. Other than that they have just a good a shot as Philly and Baltimore.
  18. I'm not too impressed, was it just me or was that little girl lip singing.

LOL ;D No doubt, but in all seriousness, if you are over 18 its your choice. Do as you please, the only thing about smokers ( I am one, but don't do this) is people who smoke in their vehicle, house ect.. with their kids within arms distance from them. Your choice, your kids, but let them decide for themselves.

Thats a first, never seen one on a riding mower. ;D In my home town we had this old man that lost his drivers license due to DUI's, so then he got a moped, 2 more DUI's later judge told him " no more moped", ok no problem he gets some mules and a buggy. Too bad you can get DUI's for operating a mule while intoxicated. Yes he got a DUI while operating a mule n buggy. I kid you not.

I am not even going to take a chance and guess at this one. You will have the argument that Ha, is from the WAC and that they haven't really played anyone. To that I say that its not their fault they tried to schedule some good teams, but were declined. With that you can say the Ga. is from the SEC and that Ha cant hang with these teams. Either way I think it will be a good game and probably a better one than the national championship.
  22. No disrespect to the NE fans, but I hope that Baltimore does pull it off. They have a better chance than any team so far and what a morale booster it would be.
  23. great post I loved it.
  24. To go along with the post from hookemdown. I heard batman owned a pair of Chuck Norris pajamas ;D Thought I could tie the two together.
