Goin' Old School

Featured Replies

With all the new lures on the market, what is one old school bait that you still like to tie on?

Jitterbug

Jitterbug X2.

Still fun to watch that bait in the water.

Newer versions have better colors.

Pre-Rigged 3 hook plastic worm. K & E Worm or Kelly's Plow Jockey. You don't fish them like a Senko, you fish a Senko like them.

Floating Rapala Minnow. Makes for a very subtle topwater in clear shallow water.

Silver Buddy.

They still work too !!!

Mepps spinners

X2^ The old inline spinners are still consistent producers.

A shout out for the Silver Buddy, too. I used to have a Do-It mold to make these, but I loaned it to a guy and he disappeared along with my mold. :cry4:

Buddies, Shorty Spoons, Lil' Cleos, Zara Spooks, are few that still get a place in my tackle boxes.

If Buddies count, add me to the list. THE most effective winter lure up here in Indiana. I'll take that statement to the bank.

Pre-rigged worms are straight nasty in the dog-days of summer up here. If you throw them enough, you'll finish in the money in August Ts.

Shannon style twin spins, Baby Lucky 13's, Tadpolly's, River Runts, Lazy Ike's, Jitterbugs, and Bass Oreno's.

Bomber Speed Shad has been one of my favorites for years.

Dance's Craw, Norman Little Scooper, and some Crankbait Corporation or Lazy Ike foam baits.

Black Jitterbug......timeless.

Jelly Worms! I have some old spots also that are long and not very tall top to bottom. Can't remember what they are called but they still catch fish. Also have some orginal Thinfins and Wiggle Warts that I don't know what I'll do when I lose them.

Jitterbugs and big-o's period.

Devils Horse and a Hula Popper.

Original bagley db3 1970 or earlier at least the baits without a bar code on the back there great.

Rebel F30s minnow in Gold/Black. They quit making them, but I still have a few. Burn it, twitch it on top, or fish it like a jerkbait. Kills in shallow clear water.

Devils Horse by a mile, but cleo's for trout and panfish are fun!
