I'm looking for some new line to put on my 2500 Sahara to mainly be used for weightless or Texas rigged plastics. I'm looking for quality, but not too expensive. Suggestions?

I'll second RW's suggestion, but I'll encourage you to try braid one day and tie a leader on it of whatever cheap or expensive fluoro, yo-zuri, etc., on there.

 

Braid - in my experience - is so much easier to handle on spinning gear.

x2.........I also recall some of the members saying something about Yo-Zuri Ultrasoft being a good line for spinning outfits, due to its ability to reduce memory.   Either way you can get spools of both for about the same price as the usual Trilene lines.

Yo-zuri is a good choice but I think seaguar invisix is a great choice. I use 8lb and its always laid on the reel well because it's lower diameter.

I personally don't like UltraSoft nearly as much as the regular Hybrid....

I dont disagree with RoadWorrrior, but i havent used YoZuri. Alot of guys on here swear by it and ive heard nothin but good things about the way it handles and its strength. I think it would def be a great option and it has a price tag that is easy on the eyes.

I like using braided line and fluoro leaders on spinning gear. I use SpiderWire Ultracast but it is expensive. (23 bucks) Spiderwire Stealth and Power Pro are pretty affordable tho and they are good lines.

I'd have to say braid and a leader as well. After hating braid from a while simply bc it was a PIA to cut and re-tie lures. I used mono and while I don't think you can go wrong with mono or FC, I'm back to braid with a leader. I love the sensitivity and the ability to change leaders based on the fishing conditions. Agree, I use 20# braid with 10 -15# floro leader

x2 - I use PowerPro with a quality leader.  My leader of choice is Seaguar Invizx 6 or 8 lb test.

As a guy that uses all spinning gear, I like P-line CX. P-line flouroclear works really well too.

Another vote for braid with a fluorocarbon leader. Power Pro at $12 or so for a 150 yd spool will last a long long time. I use backing on my reels, and typicaly get 3 fill ups out of a 150 yd spool. I "might" have to re-fill once a year, but generaly make it through an entire season on 1 fill up, and since I have 2 fill ups left for the future that's  using,like $4 worth of braid used per season, per reel. Find ANY other non braided line that will last that long for the cost per season..............you won't. I use Seaguar red lable FC for my leaders, also about $12 a spool, and at 200 or so yards per spool it takes me a long long time to use that up when I am only using a few feet at a time. I retie my leaders as often as needed, and fish about 125+ days or so per season up here (April - November) and I can get  almost 2 seasons out of a 200+ yard spool of FC. Pretty cost effective line system, that sacrifices nothing in performance or reliablity.

I would suggest trying out Berkley Nanofil. It is $20 per package but is very much like braid, it last for years. Ken Cook is still using the same spool of it he put on last jan. He highly recommends the line. I plan on trying it as soon as I get my new spinning rig.

Braid on spinning almost all the time, my exceptions are not done in freshwater.  I should be buying larger spools than 300 yds, as I go thru a lot of braided line.  I'll add what I need for a freshwater reel, but in saltwater it's a complete respool with fresh line and I don't use backing.  Just the way I do it, I want my line as perfect as it can be.  I've only used a couple of brands that didn't appeal to me, I mostly buy PP I can easily get it anywhere.

Currently I have Yo-zuri Hybrid 6 on ALL of my spinning rods, but will be trying Seaguar Kanzen braid some this year!

I have used 20# braid on spinning gear for all my soft plastics (especially Senkos) for the last 5 years and will never go back.

Another vote for braid with a leader.  It is cost effective in the long run, and easier to manage on spinning reels IMO.

I really like Yozuri Hybrid 6lb on spinning reels but braid is hard to beat too. In fact, hybrid is just a great line all the way around and it's CHEAP. You can get a 1lb spool of 6lb hybrid for $25 shipped to your door from some places. I would pay more for it but it's just an extra bonus that it's that easy on the wallet.
