Would You Call In Sick To Go Fishing?

Featured Replies

Ok name the one place in the U.S. you would call in sick tomorrow if you had the chance to go fish? I'm talking about right now including current weather conditions and everything.

For me it would be the Cal Delta.

  • If the noontime pond is hot, I'll "work remote" for the afternoon, lol.

  • Since I own the company I just go.   I do have my secretary put down on my calendar that I have an appointment with Mr. Bass.

my job is pretty flexible so i can kind of go as i please as long as work is getting completed but i have been known to take a conference call either in route to the lake or in my kayak.

But i would call out sick to go fish for peacocks in brazil or bonefish in florida in a heartbeat.

I don't have to call in sick.  I just tell my boss I wanna take a day to go fishing.  Never, ever had a problem.  They are so cool.

I've called in sick just to go fishing by myself. Heck, I've called off work because we were having a snow storm, grabbed the gear and hit the warm waters. Had the place all to myself. LOL

Are those billable hours?

I call in sick to fish, ill call in sick if I am on a turkey and I need to wait him out. Ill call in sick just cause I dont feel like going. "Sick Time" and Vacation are one in the same here.

I had an employee that didn't show up one day. When he came in the next day, I asked where he was. He said, I'm not going to lie to you. I started in and it was such a nice day, I decided to go fishing.%$#@%

Okeechobee

Lake Falcon or for peacocks on the Amazon.

I go when ever i please ,Im retired to fish and play .

Falcon.

I'm glad most of you don't work for me :-)

I have never called in sick to go fishing. I'm flexible enough at work that I can ask for short notice vacation time to take a day if I really wanted to fishing during the week.

Actually, Amazon peacocks and Surinam wolf fishing would be a blast....

I'd like to call out sick to go fishing and believe me, I consider it all the time.  But quite frankly I can't afford to miss work.  I need all the hours I can get.  That being said, My work schedule is 5pm-midnight 6 nights a week.  So what I do is go to work, stay up all night, fish from about 6am til 830 or 9, then go home and go to sleep until its time for work.  Rinse and repeat.  I also get every Thursday off so that's my main fishing day.

I don't really need to. I get enough vacation time to cover my fishing trips, and my employer is pretty flexible about taking time off with short notice.

Tom

I'll call in sick just to go fishing in general, no matter where I'm going, it's better than work. Often I'm at work thinking man, I wish I was fishing. Never am I fishing and thinkin man, I wish I was working.
