Berkley 10" Power Worm

Featured Replies

Does anyone use this type of worm? If so, what colors do find to be most productive? What is the quality and quantity of bass you catch using the worm? Thanks for any help.

Yes. I like green pumpkin, watermelon, and black. A 14"+ fish will have no problem sucking down that worm.

Blue fleck 10" powerworm. Caught everything from 5+ pounders to little 1 pounders. Good worm for c-rig and weighted worm setup.

only worm I throw other than the 7" version and always in pumpkinseed.

4/0 hook has always been interchangeable for me and hook ups are great.

Best worm out there!

A black 10" Powerworm is responsible for my PB largemouth from NY state, a 7-2.  I don't throw these much anymore, but this is a staple bait that will produce anywhere.

Black/blue, blue fleck, and red shad are staples in the lakes around here in the 10" power worm. I've caught fish shorter than the worm on them.

Yes the 10" bait is a great bait to use in multiple colors. You can use it in many different applications from flipping to a Carolina rig. But with all of the different ribbon type baits out on the market there's a new one that has a different vibration pattern to it. It is the Berkley Havoc "Federale". With it's ribbed egg sack you get a better hook to catch ratio.  http://www.berkley-fishing.com/products/soft-bait/havoc/federale

I hope this help you the next time your out on the water.

motor oil, black, green pumpkin, and plum

Blue fleck. I won big bass in a tourney at Amistad (8.44) but I've caught more 5-10 pounders on that bait/color then any other color. Half ounce tungsten and 25 pound flourocarbon. It's my favorite bait if I think I'm in an area that might have big bass. And now I only use a 7/0 worm hook.

More night tournament have been won using 10" Berkley Power worms than any other lure.

The black or black w/ blue flake is a staple for night bass fishing.

Isn't there a saying that you can bring use any color as long as its grape/plum

I usually throw it with a 3/8 or 1/2 oz tungsten sinker. Any color that you throw with other soft plastic baits will work with the Power Worm, Watermelon Candy is one of my favorites.

Thanks for the advice. I fished these for the first time in a tournament this weekend. I had a limit and was hoping to score a nice kicker. I started to throw a 10" green pumpkin power worm, and I quickly landed 2 bass. The problem was the first was 11" and the second was 13". Hopefully next time the will land me that kicker fish.

All of you who use black. Do you throw in all types of water clarity? Or is it effective in only certain situations?
