From perch jerking to Billfishing, O. Mustad & Son dwarfs the competition ;)

I use the Gammy' and owner but have been trying the Mustad's lately and have been very happy with the results.

When changing out crankbait treble hooks I usually go with the Mustad Ultrapoints.

I like the Mustad weedless as they eye is larger than the Gammy's and they don't rust like the Eagle Claws.  ;)

Edited. Wrong info.

I like my Gammy's too but when budget tight 25 pack of BPS is good for me just wish had a bigger selection on size and types other than worm hooks from BPS at my store. I use VMC's but I'm at BPS more than Gander Mountain. Now I'm trying out the Stand Out hooks for drop shots which had several hits on yesterday but nothing tried to take or miss the hits while I was working my other setups.

I'm not sure that Lazer TroKar and Lazer Sharp are one in the same.  Nowhere on the Eagle Claw site can you find TroKar hooks.  Who knows, maybe they are.

.

I generally dont rip on companies, but I will not waste $ on those BPS XPS hooks again. :-X

Right on. They suck eggs through a straw.

Normally if I buy hooks and do not like them I just use them in places where I lose a lot of baits until they are gone. These were so bad I just threw them in the trash.

Trokars are made by Eagle Claw. Owners are my favorite, I used Gamakatsus until the points started bending too often.

I doubt it. They may be marketed under the same umbrella,

but I suspect they are manufactured independently.

Yep, Eagle Claw is the parent company, just like Pure Fishing (the make pflueger and abu garcia, trilene and stren, all star and fenwick and ugly stick).  Just because the Lazer Trokar hooks are owned by Eagle Claw doesn't mean that the hook is anything like an Eagle Claw branded hook.

I like Gamakatsu and Mustad. But I will say I have been using the Trokar flipping hooks for a while now and I am sold on them.

Between Gamakatsu, Owner, and Mustad they cover almost everything you'd ever want. Sure the Lazer trokar hooks come out of the box a little sharper, but in my experience they don't stay that way.

IMO it comes down to quality/price. Once you have a certain level of sharpness, you really don't need anymore. Then it becomes more about the hooks STAYING sharp, and the VALUE. I only use premium hooks but I shop around and only pay 30-40 cents per hook--sometimes less. Owner cutting point, Daiichi X-point, and even Gammys all provide the right level of quality/price when you shop around properly. 8-)

another vote for owner and gamakatsu. mustads are a good value, i like them on jigs.

i thought trokar was going to be first because everyone on the trokar facebook says they love the trokar hook better then other hooks but by seeing the score for right now gamakatsu and owner then mustad wow didn't see that come everyone keep voting and i think i just may be stay with my same hooks but i recently did email scott martin on his website and he said he loves the trokar hooks, and what i have seen is that everyone is having mixes feeling or just don't want to pay the price for them . what is your comments on this view ?

I just flat out ain't paying for Trokars.

I can't anything wrong with my Owner cutting points.  Those hooks are as sharp as you will ever need and they stay that way through several fish.
