Swim Jig Trailers

Featured Replies

What are some good swim jig trailers? I have been using the rage craw jr. but I want something a little bulkier. Are shad shaped trailers better than craw shaped?

Thanks!

The one you're using has been my favorite.

I like to use rage tail shellcrackers and menace grubs. Also if you search this forum for swim jig trailers you will find a ton of information on them!

I been using lately the mister twister 4" split double tail grubs for all my trailers on all my lures. There bulkier and look alive like there actually swimming. They look awesome in the water. The bass like it too.

On my mini & micro spinnerbaits it's the mister twister 2" split double tail grubs as trailers. They offer these in there discounted section.

Net bait paca chunks and senior paca chunks or keitech swing impacts. Don't need anything else!

My favorite is the Berkley Havoc Subwoofer. So far that has been the biggest producer. It matches every North Star Jig I have.

I really like the Rage Tail Menace and Shell Cracker too. Both have tons of action.

Me, too!

Skinny Dippers/Little Dippers are nice. Im going to try some Rage Tails though. Seems like there are times when they want a thump of a dipper and when they want the subtleness of a grub

Zoom paddletail superflukes.

Craw jigs are for imitating craws, and look nothing like a fish to me.

My favorite part about the flukes as a swim jig trailer are A: The side to side wobble they give the bait B: The price C: Bluegill don't have claws for tails

Just don't use the strike king menace grub, they are terrible...no action whatsoever...just run away as far as possible.

But for real, they are amazing swim jig trailers.  I have eaten up about 10 bags of them this year so far...well not me, the bass.

I prefer subwoofers and rage craws. Both produce equally well but the subwoofers, albeit barely, seem to be a little more durable. The trailer doesn't need to imitate a fish. the action of the trailer is more important on a swim jig.

One thing I don't like about the Swimming Flukes from Zoom is that they are split down the belly.  If you catch a few fish with them, or if you are experiencing short strikes, you can't bite the head off and reuse it/Shorten it up.  There isn't alot there to hold it on the hook/keeper.

The Dippers have a bit more body to them.

i use twin tail menace. not the best action as the tails seem to impede each other.

I really like Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper, Berkley Subwoofer and Kinami 4 inch single tail grubs as well.

Skinny dippers, little dippers, twin tail grubs of various brands

You are breaking the two tails apart out of the package right? Are you rigging them with the tails horizontal?

I use them and they flutter independently really well for me.

Big white smoke or clear grub for shad trailers. Craw of some sort for craw jigs.

ive tried them vert and horizontal. i think the jig skirt messes them up. they do flutter nicely just not all the time, usually have to speed up retrieve to get em goin.
