What would be a good fluorocarbon line to use for a jig and soft plastics set up?  I'm having a hard time choosing a brand.  It seems all the reviews on tackle warehouse are half good and half bad on the lines I've been looking at. 

Seaguar InvizX for me.  Great all around FC.  Use it from 8ln all the way up to about 20lb test.

I've never had a problem with Berkley 100% FC. I use 8, 12 and 14 pound test

I really like Sunline Sniper. Just bought a spool of Berkley 100% and it seems to be doing a good job so far.

I've liked all the FCs I've used thus far with the exception being Berkley Vanish.  Don't like it at all.

Sunline sniper or seagar invisix for the under $25 / spool lines. Both are outstanding though I lean a bit more on sniper of the two. If you step up in price Tatsu and Shooter are tops in my book for true jig and Texas rig lines.

If budget is a concern INVISX is great for the money and so is the Berkley 100%. The only sunline i've used is the super natural mono so i cant say for their fluoro. IMO the best deal on the market right now as far as performance per dollar is INViSX or Berkley 100%. For a worm and jig set up id say #15-20 should do well.

X2 Ive never had a single issue with it, although I only use it for leaders as I have braid on all my reels.

I haven't tried Sniper, but I have experience with Invisx, and it's a great line if used with KVD L&L. It has a little memory, but after a couple of casts it's mostly gone. I can only speak for Invisx when I say it "stretches" more than most FC lines, and I tend to use it more for cranking for that reason.

What diameter you chose mostly comes down to the cover you fish. I use 12lb Seaguar Tatsu, its diameter is thinner and breaking strength is higher than rated. However, many use lines in that 15-17lb range. How strong of line you choose has a lot to do with cover. There is a sacrifice you make with stronger lines, the handling gets worse. The lines recommended are lines that handle well, so it should not be that big of a problem.

Sort of by accident, I ended up on the BPS Website in the lines section. Was comparing various FC line diameters and strengths and came across "Trilene 100% Flourocarbon Professional Grade Fishing Line."

Same diameters as similar weight mono (e.g., 12# = .012"). Contrasted with "other FC" (12# = .285").

Is this the same ribbon sort of line discussed here? There are only 3 reviews on BOS website, and I didn't see it mentioned in the search results from the forums here.

It's their new fluorocarbon that is "meant" for spinning reels. I don't think it goes above 12# but I haven't looked in a while. I'm sure if it's meant for spinning reels it would handle great on a casting reel /w no issues.

Invizx here also...

20# for jigs and 15# for plastics...

Tatsu breakdown:

 

6# is .008

8# is .009

10# is .010

12# is .011

15# is .013

20# is .015

25# is .016

 

smallest pound for pound I have seen.

which means tatsu 20# is smaller than most 17# of other brands, even smaller or at least same size pound for pound as most 15#.

 

the whole "similar mono" versus "other FC" in 12# is bunk and false. The .285 measurement is in MM which makes it .011 thousandths.

Tatsu is the bomb. I bought 3 spools of 12lb with this sale going on.
