Any Interest In The New Shimano Curado 200/201 I?

Featured Replies

I have big time interest, available 2/21. TW will  have available by that time.

I wonder if BPS will have it available for the Spring Classic sale? If so, I have reward points and gift cards burning a hole in my pocket for the new  Curado.

I think every Shimano fan is excited whether they are actually buying the new reel or not.

For those that are bargin hunters, the remaining G series will go on sale this week for $99

at BPS and most likely, at other retailers, too!

I'm going to be on TWs website at midnite ready to add into my cart lol.

I am interested to see if there will be a 50/51I at some point.

I'll be ordering one Curado I. However I'm really interested to see if the Chronarch E's will go on clearance :)

Why would the Ch E's go on clearance?

Why would the Ch E's go on clearance?

I believe some people think the new curado and the Chronarch E's are too close in price point and the E's will be discontinued.

A "lesser" reel for a higher price point basically. I personally don't see them going on clearance immediately. It will probably take a while....could be wrong though. There's a lot of talk about them being 99$ because the curado was at that price point when the chronarch came out. I really don't see it being less than 140-150 for a while. maybe cheaper when they are running on their last bit of stock. They still won't have a 50 size reel at a price lower than the core if they are discontinued. who knows.

I follow you a 100%. I think it's going to take a lot of time before they drop significantly. The fact that there is no 50 size will keep guys buying the Ch series.

You´re not going to belive it but -----> NOPE !

I´m not interested in the new Curado, actually I´m not interested in any new reel and haven´t been in several years, my last reel purchase was a Citica E ( The BaitMonkey made me do it ) and it´s been out only twice.

The truth is that I found the almost perfect Shimano reel ----> Chronarch 50 Mg

I upgraded the drag washers, purchased a couple of 100DSV spools for larger line diameters and my man, those upgrades and accesories added another dimension to the reel.

In my local DSG, the Curado is already selling for $129.

I agree with you, I think the Ch E will be around at full price at least until a 50 size Curado I comes out.

The new Curado is on my must buy list for early this year. I already put in my preorder for a Daiwa SS SV. Also, been eyeballing one of the *** Concept reels, though I'll wait for reviews. Definitely going to throw a Curado into the mix though.

If I didn't grab a G series last month for 125 at cabelas, I might of been. Have more than enough baitcasters now. Next purchase will be a 4000 sized spinning reel.

I just called my local BPS and the guy on the phone said they don't have the new Curados in the store yet and it sounds like they wont have any on Friday either, he was guessing before March 1 is when they will have them. How knowledgeable are the sales reps on things like this?

Yep, I'm definitely interested in the new Curado.

Looks cool, but I wont buy one until there is a 50 size. I don't feel like fishing with a reel the size of a tank.

I will have one soon!

Jeff

Somebody mentioned something about the curado G going on sale for $99 at bass pro soon. But bass pro no longer has them in the store or on their website. Are they waiting for the spring fishing classic to sell them at this clearance price?

Not really interested, I have a good amount of reels and they don't need to be upgraded. There is always that one I can find for a good discount though I might snatched up.

I like the smaller profile so the new chronic fits that bill with slightly more line capacity and the option for a faster retrieve

I have been a Shimano guy for years and I was anxious for the I series to come out. However, I found a heck of a deal and got 4 Daiwa Tatulas for $400 brand new, so I guess I have switched teams, lol. I was at BPS yesterday and the guy at the reel counter said the G series would be $99 starting the 1st of March.

Maybe they will have one on display in the parking lot on a trailer.

I'll probably end up buying one to try because I'm curious how the new braking system is compared to the old. It seems like Shimano will be using this system on all their reels in the future. I have 2 brakes on every single reel I have and have never had a reason to adjust them even in the windiest conditions and they perform fine.

My BPS store manager just told me they "hope" to have the new Curado by the end of the month.  Shimano says no 50 size coming.
