Left home at 6. On the water by 7. PB at 9:35. Made it to work by noon.

At least I think it's a PB; It's my longest bass and the heaviest I've weighed with an accurate scale.  5lb 2oz, and just short of 21"

The pic does not do it justice:

Up until this year I had never caught a fish on a buzzbait despite having several and using them off and on for years. I bought some cavitrons on the strength of recommendations on this board, resolved to be a little more persistent than usual and, boom, like magic, they produce. They've been far and away my most productive topwater this year.

And in a kayak we can make long casts keeping the buzzbait within a foot of the bank fishing parallel. That's deadly :eyebrows: .

Fishing was slow Thursday, but I made up for it by catching my biggest bass of the year so far. 5lb 15oz on one of my homemade bladed jigs in Golden Shiner color.

Caught a couple nice ones flipping the grass at a little local lake Friday morning too.

Had an hour to kill after school, the rain was dumping so the current was picked up in the river and fish were holding by runoff creeks. caught 8 on a chatterbait, these two were the biggest.

Caught on a Booyah Pad Crasher in Albino, my favorite frog! I cut the legs at the tip of the frog nose then I snipped another 1/2inch off and I have never had an issue with the hook set. At first I thought I cut the frog too short so I ordered another one, by the time it arrived it has stayed in the box and this one has never came off my rod except to re tie.

Had to help stack some wood this morning, and afterwords the landowners let me fish their pond, didn't look like much, silted in cow pasture pond but I never pass up a chance to fish! Caught 4 fish in 45 minutes, all of them healthy 2.5-3lb class fish. Bluegill DT4 did the damage

This evening I fished a little stretch of river that is a wintering hole, and fish are already stacking up... Nothing much heavier than 2 pounds, but 27 largemouth in 3 hours, all but 4 of them on the bluegill DT4, tons of fun!
