TUF-Line Tournament 8 braid: have you tried it yet?  The line casts and handles effortlessly. Smooth, strong, castable - everything you need in a braid without the high price!

Several members have asked about the line, but I can't find a retailer.

Who carries the line?

Well, I will look at all these sites, but BPS, Cabelas and TW do not list Tiurnament 8.

I don't see it for sale anywhere.

I sent them an email asking where to purchase. The site has no information about where to purchase. Hopefully I will get a response from the email I sent. While searching for somewhere to purchase I found an ad that advertised it for around $53 a spool. The ad I found was in PDF format and mentioned no web address.

I don't think it is available for purchase yet. It was a new line at ICAST this year, I think.

I don't believe it's out.

Just another site sponsor plug I'm guessing.

Actually it is out already, and should be available on Amazon and Tackle Warehouse soon, if not already.

$53 A SPOOL???.... Forget that!!

Not gonna do it.....wouldn't be prudent.

Hootie

Wow...........$53.00 a spool.....................must come with the fish already on it !

I looked again it was for 300ft. spool.

That's a lot for only a 100 yard spool!

Any luck finding this yet?

So it's out but not available for purchase..?

Unless I'm missing something....according to your review you're already using it for a few weeks now but asked where to buy it 2 days ago...? Tell us about it and its price tag.

Tuf line sent me three spools to try and review more than a month ago. The line I tried first was Hevi-Core braid, in 30 lb. strength. It's equivalent to about 12 mono. It really reminds me of old school Power Pro, except it sinks. I really like this line, but I'm a big PP user. I'll have a more thorough review of it, and several other products. I have no idea what the price is or where to get it, yet. I haven't tried the T-8 line yet, but again, it looks and feels very similar to slick 8. For those that have tried 832 and slick 8, you'll know what I mean. They're not all the same.

Also, I'll mention that I have a bit of resentment toward the "just another sponsor plug" type comments. I'm actually using many of the products they sell. Some are sent to me, some I pay for out of own pocket. Many I already use.

I know sometimes it sounds like a toothpaste commercial when we post about them, but it's for that reason I try to put as much honest effort into the reviews I write. Go look them up, the full name is "John Franchot" and Google will get the results if you combine it with fishing.

The fact is that we don't really have any duds in the sponsor list. Some are underrated, and deserve attention. Tuf Line is one company that is actually developing new stuff. Four totally new types of line in the past year and a half.

Let me know on or offline if you need help picking a line to try. They're more purpose specific, and it isn't always clear from the marketing what works best for certain applications.

I understand the resentment and realize you put a lot of effort in to your review. With that said, this post was clearly just a "sponsor plug". It's an advertisement asking if we've tried this new and great superline that, if I'm wrong I apologize, isn't even available to purchase....

Also, I may be looking at this wrong, but RW asked a couple days ago where to purchase the line but according to his review he's been using it for a few weeks now..

I have it and don't know where to purchase it yet either. It's a legit question. Sometimes companies send us products. We try them out, and report back to you guys. Doesn't mean we have all the information. I looked on some the big retailers' sites and couldn't find it yet. So, I'm wondering as well.

So it's out but not available for purchase..?

It's been shipped to Amazon and TW as well as others.  So, again, it should be available for sale on those sites and others any day now.  I thought that it was already "on the shelves" when I posted this thread, but I misinterpreted the information I had.

Sorry for the confusion, and I hope that clears it up.

Thanks!

P.S. I have it and have been using it.  It's very smooth and castable.

Maybe if the OP had more to give than have you tried it, when knowing it was just being released, and they were the first to get some, would have a little more info and reason to try it if it was a real shocker?  As far as being the only few to have access to it and offer no more opinion than it is smooth and cast well would lean most to think their isn't a lot to rave about, I mean we know it is new,,,,,,,,, we need a whole lot more from some of our best reviewers here, that are privileged enough to have had it knowing that no one else has had a shot at using it before them than smooth and cast well,,,,,,Stren Trilene many lines could have that said about them????? What are the down fall's or are their any? please get us out of the dark, isn't that why you folk's been using it before it's released to the rest of us? :Idontknow:
