Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

Featured Replies

I work at a retail store part time and we get in assorted products from Eagle Claw from time to time that are regular products with a different sticker over the regular upc. Well, we got in a batch of SINKER-1 assortments. So I cleaned out the 8 packages of 79-cent tungsten worm weights.

I got Skirt hub weights:

2 packs of 1/4 oz (2 per)

1 pack of 3/8 (2 per)

1 packs 1.2 oz (2 per)

2 pack 3/4 oz (1)

and 2 packs of 1 oz regular flipping weights (2 per)

I got like 8 ounces of tungsten for like 7 bucks, so that was a good day at work :)

I picked up 5 packs of Strike King 1/2 oz Spin heads for 3 bucks each, bought all of them from Wally World!

one of these is not so much a purchase but i traded a couple baits on another forum for a robs swimbait. i also placed a small order on tackle warehouse for the abt wagtail since it was under $40, and some more booty shakers since they we're so cheap. have to say i love the swim on these jenkos

Told my wife I was just going in to get 1 Mepps comet minnow to fish for trout and I ended up buying a few Rapala lipless crankbaits, Some terminator football jigs, crawfish trailers, and a big musky spinner.

Then I broke the tip off my St Croix Bass X medium power spinning rod so I sent it off to St Croix and have a medium/heavy casting rod coming back. So of course I had to order a Daiwa Tatula CT to go with it right away. If I don’t post for a while after my wife sees it all you know what happened ?

Just bought the HUK all weather rain suit from optics planet. Coupon code WORK7 for an extra 5% off

Ordered these for my birthday in december.  Love the shad paint.  The crappie is a little more blue than I wanted.

I'm right there with you.  My wife still hasn't noticed that there are 3 rods in my study where there used to be only 2 (new one is a St. Croix Premier with Tatula CT 100 6.3:1).  I'm hoping that by the time she spots it, I can honestly say "That one?  I've had it for ages!"  With luck, she'll pretend to believe me. :Idontknow:

A few warm days in the Omaha area "forced" me to place a tackle/equipment order.  When it was all said and done, ended up with a Shimano Stradic ci4+, St. Croix Legend X spinning rod, and a nice supply of finesse baits. Looking forward to fishing this year.  :D

I got mine for like 70 bucks last year. It's by far my favorite reel (granted I don't ever spend more than 200 on a reel). I'm wishing now I ordered 3 or 4 at that price.

You can still find them on eBay for $80

Don't tell the bait monkey lol, I'm a slight push away from replacing like 3 reels lol. There's nothing wrong with them I just like the CT more.

With the 15% ebay code right right now, I just picked up a CT Type-R for $85. Can’t beat it. I’m going to try them out for my lighter inshore fishing this year. We’ll see how they hold up in the salt.

...they also have the Type-R 100XS (not the CT, the 200 dollar model) in 8.1:1 for 104.95...89.20 with the coupon.

Welp...if I can settle on a new frog rod before 7PT looks like this is gonna happen. Thanks....I think

LOL, Sorry?? The BaitMonkey has done work on me this winter. I just need this weather to start warming up so I can start fishing and not have all this free time looking at gear.

I really like how the CT palms. I was considering the Type HD for the larger capacity but I have a Tranx for my heavier duty stuff. I’ll be using the CT for bucktailing fluke and casting light plastics in shallower water.

I have the HD for one of my swimbait setups (1-4oz treble baits) and it is really nice. It's not really that big I would use it on something like a frog or flipping rod for sure.

Tatula 7'4" and Type R 100XS in my Ebay cart right now...I know I shouldn't but the whole combo whispering in my ear (haaaallllfff oooffffff)

*Edit, I just realized I have a 100 dollar visa card leftover from something laying around. Yup, this is gonna happen. At least I already have line lol.

Spent a little more than I wanted to this week but filled in some missing pieces.

2x Lews Laser MG lefty

Lews speed stick for cranking

Cabelas guidewear goretex pullover

Got it all for under $200 and I should be good for a minute
