I'm looking to pick up a 15 lb co-polymer line and was wondering what others prefer.  Izorline XXX and Yo-Zuri Hybrid have caught my eye. 

Yozuri has treated me well these last few seasons. TW still has it on sale. 

Of those two, Yo-Zuri Hybrid.

I like Pline CX for copoly.  Good strength and less memory than some of the others.

Yo or Pline CXX or CX is a good line too, CX is easier to manage in 15 than the others, you may be able to use 12 in yo, it's quite strong and very tough..

strange reason I bought like 3 or 4 600 yard spools of

Yo-Zuri Hybrid off of ebay. Hence my lack of need for

other lines --- for a long time, LOL. But I've still got 

several spools of P-line.

 

Never tried the CX, always went the Floroclear route. 

Not sure when I'll try anything else beside YZH, 

Floroclear and XPS fluorocarbon.

I can understand that. I have used all these lines 

as leaders, not mainline. Although early on I did 

use Floroclear as a mainline, I haven't for years.

 

So much better as a leader.

Just ordered 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid from TW on Black Friday for cranking.  Hopefully I'll be impressed.

Good call... 12# Yo-Zuri is very strong and will suit you well. I use as low as 6# Yo-Zuri on my 1/4-3/8 oz jig rod and have loved it.

Someone who doesn't fish with it or someone who fishes twice a year that hasn't spooled up with fresh line in several seasons would be my guess. Pline CX is a very manageable line with great abrasion resistance. Pline XXtra strong has a lot of memory in higher pound test and has a lot of stretch but again great abrasion resistance. Only thing I could think would be fishing it around zebra mussels but I haven't found a line yet that stands a chance against zebra mussels.

i regularly fish floroclear, pline cxx, and yozuri hybrid. I use floroclear for finesse fishing, cxx and hybrid for everything else. There both exceptionally strong so i downsize a bit. 8-10lb is the heaviest i need for regular bass fishing.

I have to disagree with CXX having a lot of stretch. It is such a hard and dense line it has hardly any stretch and transmits feeling amazingly well.

I personally fish CXX but am not against using Izor or Hybrid although I would pick Izor over hybrid. Hybrid is good but it has more stretch and not as sensitive as a harder line.

Generally a hard and dense line = the least stretch and most sensitivity possible. But it also = the worst memory possible because of its nature. Pick what is more important to you I suppose. Memory can be overcome with L&L but stretch and sensitivity can't be changed. Sometimes stretch is wanted but generally not much for me personally.

I have been trying a lot of different lines including a variety of braid/ fluorocarbon

combinations. For the most part these new lines are our BassResource sponsors.

I have been VERY impressed with the Seaguar lines and TUF-Line.

 

Addressing the OP's question regarding co-polymer, I don't think you can beat

Yo-Zuri Hybrid.

 

 

 

I try other brands but I prefer Excaliber Silver Thread copolymer.

When they tested it. It surpassed the abrasion test and bending tests when they compared it to other lines. I have no lost fish due to line failures.

12 or 14 lb. Silver Thread AN 40 Low Vis Copolymer - $5.99 at TW - strong, thin, and casts a mile.

Read the reviews.

Both are excellent options.

 

More guys like the Yo-Zuri as it is easier to find than the Izorline products.

fished with it for a few months, didn't like it one bit, now Fluroclear is a tough line, has some memory but thats a given when you want abrasion resistance.

Trilene Sensation is a much better line than people give it credit for! Has a bit of stretch but tough as nails!
