so i just purchased about 7 rod gloves for my rods for effieciency and protection . being a co angler i seemed to  waste a lot of time getting rods untangled  so i figure i will try them out. Does anyone have problems with the rod gloves flying off when running 40mph plus on the water?? keep in mind that me being a co angler my rod tips  will be positioned towards the back of the boat hence my fear of the rod gloves possibly flying off. Please let me know what you think based on your experiences thanks!

I lost one on a run last year.  A few others were about to go as well.  Ever since then I use them to transport to/from the launch and remove them once I get into the boat.  

use the rod gloves that have the elastic draw string you can pull at the bottom and pull that end over your reel handle. problem solved.

DSG also sells a house brand Field and Stream that is the same thing for less.

Mine are on while they are in the locker but that's it. Don't have time to be putting them on and off. Wrap your line around the rod a few times.

Since you already bought them, go to the craft store and get some elastic cord.  Tie a loop of that into the opening so you can wrap it around the reel handle in the manner that iabass suggested.

I use a bungee ball, one wrap and they're good to go.

I do the same if there's time.

I use a 5ft cloth strap that has a plastic lock that I wrap around the rod handles and lock them together.

Then tie the end with an over hand knot to the rods, being sure that the knot is between all the guides.

Makes them much much easier to carry. Just sling them on my shoulder while walking around.

Then on the boat I just use the boats built in rod strap next to the seat until we get to where we're going and take them off as I choose a rod.

If there isn't a rod strap I just hold on to them at take off.

I've never had a problem with mine coming off when fishing with my dad. He does have a console in front of the rod ramp though so I'm thinking that might help. I leave them on when trailering as well and have had them slide up slightly but not close to losing them.  

I only use them during transport.  They come off when they go in the boat.  

At least you don't have to worry about asking the boater to go back for one.

^^  and they biodegrade slow or never in our lifetime so try not to lost them....

 

take a stout rubberband run through the bottom and connect to the reel handle, cheap and easy fix.  even the ones with the elastic already attached seem to come undone after time.

but man how nice it is to pull a rod and just start fishing it rather than untangling for days
