What Technique Or Lure Do You Hate To Fish?

Featured Replies

Two techniques come to mind immediately, dead sticking and C-rigs.  It's more of a love/hate thing with C-rigs, because it's a productive technique for me. Dead sticking is like bobber watching. The only time I do it is when I'm with someone else in their boat, never in mine.

If I'm throwing a Carolina rig, I've basically given up all hopes of catching anything.

  • The Old Ball & Chain ~ The Carolina Rig    I just hate that thing.   From casting it, to dragging it along, I have not had the success others have had to make me fish it enough to get good at

  • Unweighted wacky rig... Shaky head... Dead Sticking... Not because I can't catch a fish, it's just that they all take so much time. Mike

That would most definaty be a Senko.

jigs...

Say what?

For me it's anything with treble hooks because they can be so dangerous plus they stick/get stuck to almost everything they touch.

I'm really not a fan of crankbaits either.  As someone else said, I find them a little boring, casting them out and winding them in.  I know, you can stop and go and supposedly bounce them off things in the water, I still find them boring.  I find spinnerbaits almost as boring too.  I guess the one reason I consider spinnerbaits my second main lure next to soft plastics is because spinnerbait are somewhat weedless. Nothing matches the fun of soft plastics.

I've fished lots of split shot fishing but not real Carolina rig fishing.  I'm shocked to see so many people saying the Carolina rig is their least favorite rig.  I thought the Carolina rig is one of the greatest and most effective rigs to use for bass?

None!

I'd love to fish againt some of y'all ;)

Jerkbaits, even though i catch fish on them my wrist is so shot by the end of the day it's not even worth it most of the time.

The one that isn't working.

This is the definitely the one! The one that is not catching fish!

Seriously, I don't care to fish extremely deep.  Taking a chance of killing the fish, bringing them up.

C Rig, followed by jerkbait fishing, then dead sticking, and finally those wacky rigged senkos.  But I continue to push through and hope for the best even though they aren't my preferred ways of fishing.

I would agree with all of these

As long as you can get me back to Houston I'll stop by on my way home sometime. Not sure how work will think with me bringing a few bass rods and tackle with me to work, but they'll get over it.

Oh. ....it said least favorite. I didn't say I wouldn't do it in a contest or tournement. :) Then, all bets are off and I do what I think takes to win. Even senkos and dropshots.

You'd still beat me though. Lol.

Senko.

There. ...I said it.

If I'm fishing a senko. ... you can bet my day has sucked and I'm throwing "the kitchen sink" at them as a last chance.

Same here lol

I have had the same pack of senkos for going on 6 years lol

If I don't like to fish something or I don't have confidence in it, I'm not gonna fish it in a tournament. Under pressure like that is not exactly the time to experiment. I prefer to have a game plan, similar to the way Anthony Gagliardi fishes l, rather than run and gun

I don't like spinnerbaits. I always feel I'm fishing them wrong/too fast. If I'm throwing a spinnerbait you can bet I've tried everything else and heaved it out there as a last-chance prayerbait.

I don't think there is a wrong way to fish one. Just figure out the cadence the fish want. I usually start out searching with a spinnerbait. You can chuck them just about anywhere, they are practically weedless.

Senkos they are productive but take soooooo long to sink.

No hate for buzz baits?  I gave up on those years ago.

You fish Mozingo and hate buzzbaits??  :surprised:  I've caught so many fish up there on buzzbaits in the timber and over the grass, some big ones too.
