I finally got some time to go fishing today but the fish weren't biting on anything so I'm just trying to find a good bait/lure to use for winter bass fishing.

In what part of the country?  I would say a jig and pig would probably rank somewhere close to the top of the list though.

It's a jerkbait for me. 

Mine are a Jig-N-Craw & a Texas Rigged Craw Worm

I like a suspending jerkbait, weighted on the front to make it sit nose slightly down, or even make it slowly sink nose down.

Jerkbait gets the ticket for me. Lots of guys on geee like blade baits.

Anything that you present slowww, or eratic or drop on thier nose.

Some lake's it may be a jerk, some it's a plastic of some sort.

Down here for me it's a smallish plastic bait fished slowly.

Very Slowly.

A large shinner on a plain, ball head jig about 6-8ft. under the ice.  I don't ice fish and it isn't a 'lure' but the guys at my club say they slay 'em on that and I gotta believe them.

I always use a trailer I'll use a black and blue Strike King craw as my trailer

Suspending jerkbaits would be my number one winter lure but when it gets down into the 30s, that is when the hair jig becomes my number one winter bait and I often will use both in the same day.

Winter means ice to me................plastic grubs or minnows dipped in tuna fish oil.

It has always been the jig and pig for me.

For me it is a football head jig. I prefer Greenfish Tackle Craw-ball jig in hot sauce 3/8oz

If shad are in your lake and you fish out of a boat, use your sonar to find bait fish and use structure spoons or ice jigs are good in the winter.

If no shad, the drop shot soft finesse plastics or jig with pork trailers.

Trout being planted use a swimbait.

Truthfully Dwight, I cringe everytime I call them 'Jerkbaits', because that's probably the least important phase of delivery.

A while back, J Franco mentioned that a friend of his referred to them as "Pausebaits" (I'll drink to that)
