Favorite Clear Water Lure.

Featured Replies

As the topic states what's your favorite Clearwater Lure?

Hardbait: Ghost Minnow jerkbait

Softbait: Morning Dawn roboworm or jackall crosstail shad

Presenting clear water by itself makes a bait & / or technique decision challenging.

But day in & day out, in very clear water, it's tough to beat a Drop Shot -

And a Dream Shot or a Rage Craw would be my first or second choice.

I have to say a swimbait. There are just way to many heart pounding experiences.

That's good to hear as I will be fishing swimbaits for the first time this year in very clear water. Tubes and spinners are my favorite to date, though. And jerks.

Everything I use is a clear water lure, that is where I fish!

Depends a lot on time of year. Jerkbaits and shakyheads are both great in clear water. I agree with gobig though, swimbaits in clear water is about as exciting as it gets.

5" Bull Shad swim bait, floating hard reel back to the boat and love to watch it just blow up. This isn't my most successful clear water, but it's my most enjoyed.

The only true "clear water" I've been on was the private lake where I caught my pb. It was crystal clear, purest water I've ever seen. I threw a 1/8 oz. chartreuse/white spinnerbait all week and got crushed.

Super flukes in watermelonseed, or white ice.

Jigs in watermelon, blue/black, or craw.

Medium to deep diving crankbaits in shad color.
