Keitech Easy Shiner

Featured Replies

I love the 2 and 3 inch Easy Shiners. However I get one fish out of them and less sometimes if the collar tears it when changing. Is there another swim bait with the same profile that is more durable?

i like the netbait spanky swimbait, it has a great action but i think there smallest size is 3 1/2in

Look at the Havoc grass pigs they are cheaper and possibly a more durable option. They are a bit longer then the keitechs, so I just pinch them to get the desired size.

If I might ask, how are you rigging those shiners?

If you used the 4" there are several that are very close, the Strike King KVD swim N shiner, and the Bass Assassin Elite Shiner but at 3" I don't know of any.

Mister Twister Sassy Shads or Cabelas Hoochie Coochie (something like that).

I wouldn't trade my Keitechs for the world.  I do like the Havoc Beat Shad or the Strike King Swim-n-shiner as an alternative however at slow speeds there is a considerable difference.

I like my Keitechs.  It's like Senkos, they are soft, they tear, but they catch fish.

I've always stuck with the Swing Impact (Fat usually). Anyone found a distinct difference or better results between the Impact and Easy Shiner?

I would bite the bullet price wise on the Easy Shiner. I haven't found anything that would come close to it, production wise.

I just put the jig head in from the head so the hook is exposed on top. I think I will bite the bullet. I haven't found anything close. I love the tail action on the slow retrieve.

Have been using Keitech's now for a few years.  I fish the swing impacts the most in the 3-4" size but also have the easy shiners.  As for durability, it costs a bit more then regular jigheads, but the Kietech tungsten jigheads do a great job holding the baits on and don't seem to tear the body of the bait apart like some regular jigheads.

Use super glue gel or mend it.  Either one of those will make that bait last a lot longer.

X2 If I forget or run out on the water I'll throw something else.

@Goggle Eyes The Keitech ball is good but the bait keeper sucks, I have to use superglue to keep baits on those heads.

I like the Nako tungsten ball heads, but their prices have been steadily climbing as they have made a name for themselves (even TW is selling them these days). They used to be a great value on Amazon.

VMC tungsten moon eye is another good options for a ball head, but price isn't great.

Megabass haze dong shads are a bit more durable than the smaller Keitechs...

Resurrecting a post here, ive been using Owner ball head jigs what else are you using for Easy Shiners

The nishine smelt head pairs real nice. It runs a little head down too, so you can get hunting/deflections off rocky bottoms. I wanna try the ryugi soft plastic clip to extend the life, hoping it’s better than a dab of super glue.

Please allow me to show you how to make soft plastics last waaaaayyyy longer...

Initially I used a 1/16 #1 in both Owner Darter Head and Keitech super round, as well as 1/20 wheel heads on the 3" Keitech.

Since then Ive used over a dozen different kinds of heads depending on the situation.

Some heads really stood out.

Berkley Half Head

Hayabusa Baby Shooting Ball (DCd)

Hayabusa Brush Easy

Outkast Tackle Money Jig

Core Tackle Hover Jig

Decoy VJ 74 (keeper is is almost non existent, but there is shrink tube on the shank for tying a custom FC/Mono keeper, which works great)
