If You Were A Bass Pro

Ok, this thread is just for fun... I'm interested to hear what you all say...

If you were a bass pro, and you could choose one brand of rod and one brand of reel... What would they be? How many setups would you have? Which setups would you have? Let's see if we can't have some fun with this....

I know that I wouldn't mind being sponsored by Daiwa for reels.... I have no idea on rods though...

I'm thinking most of my setups would be Zillions... Not sure exactly which ones...

Id want an endless supply of chronarchs, cores, and aldebarans.

Rods 13 envys and croix LTBs

However i think i would rather have a boat sponsor first...skeeter or basscat would be perfect lol

And ill need a beer sponsor lol

Daiwa's reel quality is insane. I just finally had to retire a 1983 Procaster Magforce. And I fish a good bit. It was still my go-to reel. And they send replacement parts free, no questions, no delivery charge.

I'd have a bunch of St. Croix's built by me with JDM Shimanos on them.

daiwa  -12 years after it's debut and I still will choose a TD-Z type r+ over any reel made.

I guess the R+ is still working for you.  I love the one I have too.

I'd love to be sponsored by megabass for reels and G loomis for rods.

I don't know enough about modern bass gear to comment except to say that the Daiwa I just bought is fabulous. Best reel ever for me. As for how many, I recently read something, it might have been that thread about what it takes to be a pro and it was crazy how many rod/reel rigs this one guy had. It made me think good gracious, why so many? Where would you put all that stuff?

shimano sunline and megabass

Young man, you don't have to be a "pro" to fish what you want. Work hard, make and save some money and you can fish whatever you want. That said. Count me in for custom croix's and shimanos as well and you know what? That's what I fish now.

Very true! My dad just got parts for his procaster that is now well into its 30s and he still uses it every weekend!

Ok, I think I've figured it out...

Dobyns and Daiwa

13 Casting, 5 Spinning

Tatula Type R's and Zillions

Champion Series Rods

Ballistic Spinning

And a Whole Lotta Sunline!

Megabass for rods, JDM Shimano reels, Sunline for line and Gamakatsu for hooks.

Honestly I dont think I could commit to one brand of rod, reel, and line. Shimano would slightly edge out Daiwa on reels. Seagaur or Sunline would be a coin flip but I would probably go with Sunline. Rods would be beyond tough. If Shimano included Jackall it would be fine as long as they could supply me with Gen 1 Cumara and Cumulus rods too!

I'd use the brands that paid me the most because that's how the business works. Knowledge and decisions making catch fish not tackle brands.

Abu Garcia and Fenwick. It's all I use now. No reason to change pro or not

I generally use Shimano rods and reels now so I don't imagine I have much a reason to change -- though if I was forced I could live with the Devil's brand of reel, Abu Garcia.

Lew's reels, and Abu Garcia rods. That's my combo that I use almost every day, and I wouldn't try to represent a company I don't use.

Lews for reels, and I know I'm gonna be alone here but Carrot Stix for rods.
