What part of Indiana?

I have looked at it on the navionics website and it's definitely diverse, both bluegrass pit and loon pit.

What you see on Navionics is only part of the picture. That’s why when I’m doing tournament prep I use Google Earth as well. Some of those pits get filled with grass and mat. Obviously this time of year they haven’t filled in but there is still grass. Others stay open, so different styles of fishing

Night time jitterbug bass. I couldn't believe it when they said they caught two of them last night.

Hit 5 different spots today, stone quarry two rivers, and two ponds. Not a single bite and I threw everything but the kitchen sink. I did catch my personal best a few weeks ago, which I am very happy about, but overall this year has been an incredibly slow year for me so far.

It’s definitely been tough, but it’s been so cold so much later than normal, hopefully with the warm weather this week it will liven them up!

Hit clear lake yesterday watertemp ranged from 47.7-51. Fish were on breaks and not doing a thing. Managed one little pike.

Fishing sucks bad in Indiana this year but I managed to have a good day at pond in my neighborhood on Saturday. I caught 4 with my biggest being 2.75 on a dropshot and the the rest were caught on chatterbaits. My buddy caught 3.5 pounder. Picture of the fish my buddy caught is below.

Fish are moved up and making beds here. None are locked in yet and it seems to be just the males on/around them.  Caught 1 two pounder. Worked him for a long time. But he was the closest to locked on in the pond I was at

Glad to see some success for you.  You had me worried that you were giving up earlier. Neighborhood looks familiar.  I paint all over Indy.

Never giving up, I just got in my feelings in a lil bit (happens to the best of us). That’s Kensington Farms in Lawrence area if that rings a bell.

I'm up that way a lot.  Had in-laws spend a lot of time at Westminster across Sunnyside. Keep showing us more fish.  Good luck.

I was out last night to a lake I haven't bass fished before. It was dead until I pulled the ol' ned rig out. I had 3 bass,1 crappie, and 1 bluegill on a 1/16th oz green pumpkin TRD. 2 bass were smaller than the crappie I caught but the other was a nice fat 20" mama. Didn't get a weight or pics on her but probably 4.5 - 5 lb.

Went to a pond today and the lady caught 3. It’s definately about to be love season for the bass. One of the fish expelled some eggs while I was taking it off the hook. Geist should be  interesting this weekend.

My Patoka trip keeps getting postponed due to crapy weather, etc. Will the bass likely be moving back out deep by late may, or still up shallow?

Both. The early spawners will be deep and the late spawners will be shallow.

Been out 5 times in the past week.  Both last Friday and yesterday evening (5/2) were on fire.  Sunday was meh, and Monday and Tuesday were absolutely horrible.  Anyone else having similar results?

BTW, at least on the lakes I've been on, no beds to speak of yet....

Ponds I fish are full of nesting activity. They're fairly deep.  I could see fanned out areas about 2-3 feet down. Slow rolled a Baby 1 Minus over them and had lots of fun.

I haven’t been out since spring finally arrived, but I’m hoping to change that this weekend!

@CroakHunter thanks. If the weather forecast remains good for this coming Friday (05/11) we'll be going that day. I'm guessing some should be on beds

Got out for a few hours today. Caught a 2 pound male off a bed. I hit him right between the eyes, twice! Then he grabbed it. Caught a few more dinks on a Ned, saw a pig of a female swimming around shallow, that was pretty exciting cause I thought the biggest fish in there was 12”!

Had our spring tourney today. Rules are 3 over 18inches, 3 under 18 inches. We had 22lbs 1 ounce. 4th place. Winner had 25lb 14oz. Big fish was 7-13

Congrats! Sounds like a fun day!

To add to my above post. 8 teams had 20lbs or more. My partner and i weighed our 6 biggest from the day and had nearly 28lbs

Fished Geist yesterday and there were quite a few on beds.
