Just got these pics from my mom's boyfriend. Him and my grandpa are fishing turtle creek from the bank today

They both told me they wouldn't go fishing there unless I could go...they lied. At least maybe next time we will take one of their boats up there

I went out for a bit earlier today. I had some bites on a spinnerbait and had one hooked but it came off. Water looked about like chocolate milk. Things should be heating up here soon hopefully. 

Well my Sunday plans have (potentially) changed. My dad wants to try Summit Lake. I've been there once in fall and once in spring and got skunked both times. Anyone have any suggestions? I need to eliminate a lot of water since its 800 acres and we're in kayaks.

I have noticed a difference in the early spring when the water is still cold that I get way more bites with a smaller body with the feathered tail vs the larger body with no feather.

I have never tried the same body size with and without the feathered tail.

I was using a pointer 78DD with a rear dressed treble last weekend but didn't start catching them until I switched the dressed treble out with a bare treble.  I do very well with dressed trebles on j-baits and topwater once the water warms up.  It gives the fish something to target and is a great counter if they are short striking your bare-treble lure.

Arrived at KY Lake yesterday to prefish for KBF National Championship. First prefishing spot only took about 30 minutes to find my first toad!

Anybody ever fish Wawasee for smallmouth , I have heard they they are in there but have never seen many people going after them . 

I need the scoop on Brookville Lake. I heard it’s predominantly small mouth. What has worked well for anyone that has fished it? I’m thinking drop shot and Jerkbait..... any suggestions would be great

Brookville is not necessarily known for their bass - Mostly a crappie, walleye, and catfish fishery. That being said, there are 2 bridges on the lake and the causeways to the sides tend to hold smallies during the day as the sun heats up the rocks and gets the crayfish moving. The North side of the lake sees more bass action (i.e. Hanna's Creek and Ellys Creek) all the way up to the river mouth which has a lot of structure. If you are wanting to catch bass and have a boat with an electric motor, I would opt for Whitewater State Park (it spills into Brookville on the North side), it's a fun little lake and little to no bass pressure. 

48 degree water temp here on one of our small lakes. Friend caught them on a squarebill, keitech, and scrounger.

About a month until spawn though!

I'm looking forward to getting out finally. I'm hoping to go this wednesday or thursday. I have some new cranks and some new rods I have to test out. I will probably toss a jig a little to.

I thought it was going to be nothing until about 2  holy cow it came down! We’ve go drifting that’s more than a foot deep, not sure how much snow we actually picked up, the weather people said 10” in Indy. 

Couple pics I got sent from my cousin and his boy that live somewhere north of me in Indiana. Both are over 26" long. I'm thinking 9-10lbs each. Both were released immediately after pics. For size comparison the man in the picture is roughly 6'4 or 6'5

What a week at Kayak Bass Fishing National Championships. Finished 65th out of 752 of the best Kayak Anglers in the country. Also while on Kentucky Lake Saturday I won the Kayak Bass Series Season opener. Pretty good pay day to start the year.

 

Kentucky Lake showed how hard she can be. Between the weather, thunderstorms, snow, sun, winds out of the NW shifting Tournament morning to SE and the lake having dropped 13ft in 2 weeks it was a constant challenge. The first day almost 300 People didn’t catch anything.

At the end of day 1 I was in 85th. Day 2 I was grinding all day and moved up 20 spots. Learned a lot. Used a lot of what I have been learning over the past 2 years and the hard work is paying off.

Good God almighty! I didn’t know they got that big here. Must be southern Indiana because the people in my area never seem to have photo evidence or a scale. Nice catches!

Thanks man, definitely proud. Was fishing against the best in the world. Didn’t win the $100,000 but walked away from the weekend with $950. Good start to the year.
