My niece caught a very pregnant largemouth a couple days ago! I couldn’t imagine any spawners left but this one was definitely ready!

I have been busy fishing for the last three days, on Saturday I spent most of the day crappie fishing and trolling for white bass.  Ended up with only two crappie between 7 am. and 12 am. and after th

Fished a close by neighborhood lake for a couple of hours. Beautiful cool evening and non-stop action. Three were better than 3 lbs. Caught most on a t-rigged hula stickz.

new PB smallie from LSC - weighed 4#12oz and measured 20.5 inches

dropshot, chatterbait, and jerkbait crushed it.  can't wait to go back!  We caught smallies, largemouths, rock bass, white bass, pike, muskie, and walleye.

Got out this morning just before the rain.  Excellent action on wacky Zinker. Rain set in for good about 10:00 but was more thankful for it than disappointed for cutting my fishing short. Ponds have been dropping lately.  It's too early for that.

Heart break has set in, in southern indiana. Lost a giant at the bank. Wrapped me up in a brush pile and I wrestled her out. Had no choice but to try and get her head up on the rocks to reach her, she made one last run on short, beat up line and that's all she wrote. Not sure how big but it looked as big or bigger than my 7.2. 12" worm is what she bit

Just got back from a tournament at wawasee, which is an awesome lake to go catch a ton of fish at btw. Caught 120+ fish in 2 days of fishing.  Anyway, there was 2 main patterns going on Saturday when we were prefishing. Dropshotting offshore and frogging the openings of canals, and not being a good dropshotter but both my partner and I are pretty decent froggers, we went for that bite.

tournament morning it looked like 80% of the boats were offshore, and the vast majority of the rest were running the canal openings like we were, so we ditched that plan after 45 minutes and went pattern hunting. found a new pattern of running mainlake lilly pads (the ones that extended above the water for some reason) with frogs, bombing them way up into the pads and trying to get them in the water between the pads occasionally. The fish back in those weren't as pressured as the ones around the edges which is why we were so successful doing it.  Unfortunately, it resulted in an awful hookup and landing ratio, but we put a 9.66 pound limit together and culled a few times. We figured we'd need 15 pounds to win because of the numbers of 3-4 pound fish we saw slap our frogs and pull off, so we didn't think out limit would do much.

We come into weigh in and it turns out our limit put us into 2nd place out of 92 boats, only 0.15 pounds behind 1st! No one else in the top 12 were frogging, all offshore.  You can bet they were jealous of our frog bite after dropshotting all day lol, even if my wrists and elbows would have argued differently after 2 days of fishing frogs and slamming hooks home.  A great finish, but to add insult to injury big bass was only 3.5 pounds, and we had a 4+ pounder that pulled off a foot from the net that would have won both the tournament and big bass for us.  We had so many lost fish that would have won it, it isn't even funny.

A surprisingly low weight tournament, even though a tournament the previous weekend only took 7 pounds to win, but lots of fish were weighed in.  That lake is just loaded with bass, everyone was catching at least small ones.

Next tournament is the state championship at Monroe, top 2 finishers from that event and top 4 from aoy get a place in the national championship, we aren't likely to make top 4 aoy so we're gunning for top 2 in state ;) I just hope there's some frogging going there, but being monroe, anything can happen.

Nice job figuring out a bite within a bite. Always been a fun lake to fish...just hate the drive and lack of launching/parking facilities.

Launch was awful, luckily we were able to stay with friends that have a place on the lake and they did an on the water check in which made things smoother for us.  We launched from Syracuse but most of us including ourselves went to wawasee to fish.

@IndianaFinesse never fished that lake but those kind of numbers sound like fun!  good deal finding your own pattern and separating yourself from the rest of the pack.  how was the grass in that lake?

There was massive amounts of all kinds of grass, everything from coontail to pads. Around the docks (with the exception of pads and a few other types, idk the different varieties very well, and on undeveloped shorelines the weedline grew shallower) there is an inside weedline around 4-5 foot deep, and an outside weedline around 25 foot. 8-12 feet of clarity everywhere.  There is just acres and acres in pads in some areas. Definitely a fun lake, hope it's on the schedule again next year.

Btw, we're sitting in 6th place in the aoy standings out of 131+ boats, only a couple points out of 4th, and top 4 in aoy and top 2 in the state event on Monroe in a week and a half get a national championship invite, so you can bet we'll be swinging for the fences on that one.

New to the area and needing some good spots on northwest Indy. (Zionsville) anyone point me in the right direction? Bank fishing.

Eagle Creek

Pretty quiet around here.  I got out in the rain on Saturday and had really good day using both a vision jr and a hardhead/beaver combo.  Couldnt get bit on topwater which was surprising given the conditions.  How's everyone else doing?

Neighborhood lakes I fish have been real good.  Weed growth is forcing me to start using different tactics than I prefer but I'm still having a blast.  I haven't done much creek wading to this point because I've been having so much fun on dry ground.

We decided to go after walleye on Sunday because of forecast.  Boy if I was that bad at my job ild.get fired.  Switched to bass and the air craw was the ticket.  Picture don't do it justice.  The claws have air pockets in them .

Alarm clock went off at 4am on the 4th and since I had off work I really really really wanted to stay in bed.  But I got up and headed out to the lake bc I guess I wanted to rip some lips even more.  Between 545 and 7 I had boated 19 bass.  Added 7 more to that for 26 total by 845.  Nothing huge but almost all were keepers.  Both the swim jig and chatterbait were working hard.  Also caught some on a wacky and a few on a rico popper.  Was home by 930 and napped until noon.   Lately the morning first light bite has much more productive than the evening bite.

Went on our yearly trip to Minnesota , hooked into a 7lb giant , broke the lake record by 2 lbs . Local guy at the tackle shop said it was the biggest bass he has seen in 30 years . The lake we are fishing is the home of the state smallmouth record . People up here don’t fish for the green carp lol . They don’t know what they are missing ! Fish bit a bubba shot with a Texas fogged 10 inch brown worm .  Released to make some more beautiful northern monster bass !

Went to Eagle Creek today and it was kind of dead.  We hit the water a little before 6am and only caught a few.  A couple of people we talked to, got skunked.  Not sure what the deal was.  Although I did catch my first white bass and it was not a wiper or a striped bass either.  I have fished for years and never caught one. It was a lot of fun to hook into.

I fished the White River today. I ended up coming in 3rd. The  slot limit made everything that much harder. For your limit, 2 fish had to be over 15 inches  and 3 had to be under 12. Caught my first 2 fish on black and blue Chatterbait and the rest were on a drop shot. I caught a lot of fish but the slot limit messed us all up. But I had fun.

That is definitely a weird slot limit. So you had to have 3 dinks and then 2 as big as possible?

Exactly, majority of my favorite has are where in the slot or above 15 inches

Went out spur of the moment before sundown and had a real fun frog bite.  Caught four 2-3 lbrs. in a little over half an hour.  Had to quit because the nose of my frog (only lure I brought) got torn and wouldn't float. This reinforces what I've said before that some of my best sessions come from limiting my options.
