How can I find more about the tournament? I can’t find anything by searching the web.

Feel free to pm me. Definitely not gonna find anything on the web. Same guy has been putting on the tourney for over 30 years. I'd be more than happy to explain or answer any questions. I have fished it for 7 years and we always have a good time.

23/11 was the winning bag. Thats 3 fish under 18 and 3 over.

We weighed 23 even and got 2nd. Also won big bass. 4/10. Had a good turnout with terrible weather.

All our fish were caught on frogs in less than 3 feet of water. I believe they were all post spawn. Others at the tourney had some full of eggs.

Seems to be in full swing locally. I know you're in Indy. As I walk the ponds I fish I can see light areas everywhere through my sunglasses.

I have only been out once this year. I’ll be hitting Morse next Saturday. I’ll probably hit a couple ponds this weekend.

Info on StJoe river mishiwaka area?

I have a meeting up there on Wednesday and have been wanting to fish the St Joe for some time. Thinking of towing the boat up there and fishing the river!!

havent been there before and looking to catch some smallmouth. Anyone been out there lately? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

also worried that with all the rain we’ve had, that the river will even be fishable.

thoughts anyone?

I visited the Bass Pro Shops in southern Indiana, across the river from Louisville KY, for the first time over the weekend.  Wow, what a nice store.  I was impressed.  I spent over $50.00 but could have easily spent over $300.00

I'm definitely going back.  And come February, instead of going to the Indy Boat and Travel show and look at the over priced boats, I'll skip that and head south to the Bass Pro Shops!

I love going down to that store.  Definitely my favorite BPS.  Don't think I've ever got out of there without dropping a couple benjamins tho.  You did well exercising that kind of restraint

Van bibber/ glen flint fishing report or experience?

VanBibber is separate and private, but Glenn Flint is public. Been taking 12-13 pounds to win out there the past month or so, but 15-18 pound sacks were winning in the spring. Has some big bass in it if you hit it right. Bite gets better once the water cools down in fall. Usually stained water, lots of timber. The entire arm where you launch is idle zone. You have to idle in the creeks too because of so much standing timber. Easy to ding a prop if you’re not careful.

I'm headed up to the St Joe River in Elkhart soon.  Launching at the six span bridge ramp.  Anyone familiar with this pool that could give some tips?

Poehleins Big bass tourney was yesterday. We finish with 19lbs. Not a great finish. Never could put a decent bite together.  Rules are 6 fish limit, 3 under 18"

Got the kayak out and went fishing Sunday for a few hours.  Caught one small bass in shallow water but other than that, no bites.  Water temperature at the surface was 41 degrees.  Caught it on a grub and eight pound fluorocarbon.  No bites on my Rapala DT 20 and small spoon.  The Rapala DT 20 though is becoming one of my favorite lures to throw.  Also, instead of going to the Indy Outdoor show last weekend I decided to go back down to Bass Pro Shows in Clarcksville and picked up my first Diawa baitcaster - Tatula SV TW.  Man, that thing is sweet!  My first nice baitcaster with all magnetic brakes.  The thing so far is sweet and looks bad to the bone.  Really glad I skipped the Indy Outdoor show and all that shoulder to shoulder crowd and instead went to Bass Pro Shops.

Thanks for waking this thread up. We've got a few guys (myself included) that could keep the ball rolling. I got out yesterday afternoon and really struggled until about 4:00. Got on a good bite and caught seven in about 45 min. Biggest was about 2.5# but definitely bailed out a tough afternoon.

I am getting the itch especially this week since it is warming up! I am in the Kokomo area, and have the Wildcat creak, and the Kokomo Reservoir. One of the creak arm go within a 1/4 mile from my house. I usually ride the quad up there and start some wading. I am hoping for a few smallmouth bites, now that the water is heating up!

I haven't been on here lately to be honest, but I did get a new rig last year. Triton TR17. 3 HDS 7 Gen 2's, IX5 TM, Mariner 115. I love it! The deck is extended so I can get two up front if I want. I have already hauled it down to Smith Lake, and put a whoopin on some southern LMB.

I also hammered this 4.21lb LMB in Noblesville from my brother's neighborhood retention pond! I sight fished this one, and there was another bigger one with it. I am hoping to get them again this year!
