I am getting the itch especially this week since it is warming up! I am in the Kokomo area, and have the Wildcat creak, and the Kokomo Reservoir. One of the creak arm go within a 1/4 mile from my house. I usually ride the quad up there and start some wading. I am hoping for a few smallmouth bites, now that the water is heating up!

I haven't been on here lately to be honest, but I did get a new rig last year. Triton TR17. 3 HDS 7 Gen 2's, IX5 TM, Mariner 115. I love it! The deck is extended so I can get two up front if I want. I have already hauled it down to Smith Lake, and put a whoopin on some southern LMB.

I also hammered this 4.21lb LMB in Noblesville from my brother's neighborhood retention pond! I sight fished this one, and there was another bigger one with it. I am hoping to get them again this year!

Nice bass. Most of my fishing is in neighborhood lakes. Some can really produce. Let me also welcome you here.

Last weekend I saw a lot of boats coming out in the Kokomo area. I have not brought mine out yet, but I think it is getting time to do so. I have a few things to do it, and I want a new trolling motor. It has a chance for a rainy snowy mix here tomorrow, so it may be Sunday...Anyone have their boats out already?

I was out on Wed nite with the kayak. Had a dozen smallmouth, a walleye, rock bass, and a bluegill on cranks and bladebaits and 2 on a ned rig.

Haven’t posted in quite a while - haven’t had great success with LMB fishing at my usual honey hole for the past couple of years. It’s an old coal strip pit with very clear water (10+ feet visibility during the dog days of summer - we typically fish evening into the night due to the clear water & very, very wary fish). 20 minutes into an evening trip on the 4th of July resulted in this 6-6 beauty. She came up from a deep weedbed to smash a single Colorado blade Booyah spinnerbait, which I’d rolled & ripped over & through the weeds about a dozen times prior. Was lucky to hook into her before the sun went behind the trees - got to watch her fight & dig for the depths in that clear strip pit water. Love watching bass shake their heads underwater. Pretty rare that we catch any this size during daylight hours this time of year at this place in Clay County. The best part was that my 70+ year old dad was with me, watching me do what he taught me & having some success. Thanks, dad. Fish was released to fight another day & keep the gene pool going.

Haven’t been on here for a longtime myself but that’s a nice one, in fact I’m almost positive I bank fish in the same pits, of course I’ve never pulled one out that big.

hope you guys are all doing good, I’ve acquired a new brother in law that is a bass fisherman so that and my son finally being old enough to be able to fish with me has got me back beating the banks.
This is my sons third or fourth of the day, I’m pretty sure he outfished me... again...

Hey guys, been a hot minute since I’ve been on but I’ve still been harassing those green fish lol. Purdue isn’t letting us fish bass tourneys, so I’m looking for a good bass club to join with my brother. Anyone have any bass clubs they either have heard good things about or are in and like? Preferably with entry fees <$80 ish

Not sure if they're full or not for 2021 (think they accept 25 "teams"), but check with IBC. You can mention my name if you want. Josh knows me :)

Kokomo Res water temps this last weekend were in the 47.5 to 47.9 range 6-11ft depths. Graphed a ton of fish between 8-9 ft.

The tournaments are starting up here now. It will be interesting to see what can be had!

Where's the best place to find a co-angler?  Fishing Tuesday night bass at Geist most weeks.  I've got a boat but am still learning.  Open to another person my skill level or if someone experienced doesn't have a boat, I'm willing to learn and let you call a lot of the shots.

Shoot me a PM if youre still looking for a co.  I have a boat and fish the tuesday nighter quite a bit, but finding a co is a recurring issue.  Maybe we could help each other out.  I also fish some weekend tourneys on that lake.

Anyone heading out this weekend with the warming trend we are getting?

I have a tournament on Wawasee this weekend. It is supposed to be cloudy and in the low 70's!

I am willing to fish Geist with someone as a Co. I am about 45 min north of that area, but may be able to get down there depending on start times.

With the snow that just poured in on Monday in central Indiana, I wonder how it affects the spawn this year. I know it will be warming up crazy this weekend, some parts of the state in the 80's or close to it. I wonder if the bass are just as confused as we are on when the fun starts?

I just saw your post from almost two weeks ago. This thread used to get a lot of looks from a group of local guys including myself but gradually died out a good while back. Being listed as a north east state can't help. Would be nice to revive it. I gleaned some useful info. @Team9nineis a gold mine of knowledge so if things don't take off here make sure and read his posts elsewhere.

Thanks for the response! I am primarily a kayak fisherman, and I like going up and down the river for smallies. Waverly is my primary put in and ill venture down to Henderson Ford from time to time. I just got a Jon boat, so I'm excited to have multiple boats to fish from.

Greetings! I’m in Martinsville, Henderson Ford area. You fish any club events, GRBY or such. Waiting on my new Old Town AP 120 to show up. Planning on a great deal of White River fishing and always looking for a fishing partner.

I’ve never fished any clubs or anything like that, but I’m always willing to try something. As far as fishing goes that sounds great, always nice to have someone to go out with! I am fairly new to this stretch of river, so it will be a fun year to learn. I’m hoping to put my 16’ Jon in the river,  but it was so shallow last fall I kept getting stuck on my yak. I might get one of those mud skipper motors for it. Think it would be perfect though there.

I’m in the northern part of the state. When do you guys typically start to see the pre spawn?

Usually within a week or two after ice out if temps warm the water above 40 deg.
