I'm glad I have an office that has curtains, I'm glad it's in a building where I know no one, I'm glad the walls are thick here because I'm crying in my office because a few hours ago, my great friend, Ken Cook died.

I wish I was a journalist who looked at people as only stories, no emotional attachment...but I don't, never have, and with some of who I write of, I become friends, some close, some just friends.

A very few I become real close with, fewer still I become family with.

I'm family with Ken Cook, with Tammy Brigham Cook, with Hunter Cook, with Tanner Cook...the child in the middle of the Tackle The Storm logo is Ken Cook's grandchild.

I'm going to try and write something later today about Ken, don't know how, or maybe even if, I can, but know this:

Ken was a great man, a great husband, father, grandfather, and the world lost a bit of its soul a few hours ago.

To the Cooks, you know how I feel, I've lost a brother today, just as simple as that.

Oh my. Sorry to hear. Yes, he was a great angler. Glad to hear he was a great man in many other ways too. Gives us all something to shoot for. Thanks for the already wonderful tribute.

Sad news indeed. I learned a lot about spinnerbait fishing from reading articles about him. Had followed him on FB when my account was active. He was a great outdoorsman and a better family man.

He was one of my favorites back in the day. Always had interesting input from his experience as a biologist. The world of bass fishing has lost a good one.

Just saw this on BassMasters. Ken was one of those anglers that I always rooted for. Besides being a great angler, he seemed to be a great person. Back in the day, he got me throwing Hart spinnerbaits. Next time I go fishing I will have to tie one on in remembrance of Ken.

I had the very good fortune to meet and talk with Ken. He impressed me with his knowledge and love of fishing. He was truly a GENTLEMAN.

Awful news to bring in the New Year.

Ken presented at the first Bassmaster University I attended and he was outstanding.

Coupling his fishing biology with his bass fishing Ken explained how water clarity and other environmental changes affect bass.

T&P to his family.

Condolences to the Ken Cook family, it's a shock when someone this young passes away.

The Bassmasters Classic should have a special on Ken Cook being from Oklahoma and a Hall of Fsme Bass tournament angler that gave so much back to this sport.

What a great loss to the sport of bass fishing and his family. Ken helped bring bass fishing to where its at today. One of the legends in bass fishing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
