The Twins are in for a rough season here, I suspect.

Last year they managed to have their worst attendance in Target Field history, they traded half the roster during the season, the owners told everyone they were going to sell, changed their minds a week later, and they fired the coach.

Hard to imagine it getting worse than that, but the over/under win total is 70 games. If they aren't competitive and the weather is lousy here, it actually might get worse.

Alienating a fanbase (which was not that great or dedicated to begin with) would be a good way to describe it.

The Red Sox are in the same boat. As long as they don't finish in last place ... again ... it's the best I can hope for.

I don't think ownership cares about championships. It's about " the Fenway Experience" I heard one owner say during a press conference a while back.

Yep, I once heard a Mariner owner say they're happy as long as they have a .500+ year because then they're profitable (ticket sales). They're not interested in pennant races because "It's too expensive"

Soooo.... the Mariners will remain as the only MLB team to never make it to the World Series for infinity.
