My bold prediction: Come next October, the Mariners will STILL be the only MLB team never to make it to the World Series.

.....well....ok.....not so bold.

  • I was only one when the Dodgers moved to LA.  I understand my uncle got in a heap of trouble from my aunt over this picture of him and a movie star that appeared in in Life Magazine.   https

One week from today, every team will have had their pitchers and catcher report to spring training. Can’t wait! Opening day of baseball and ice-out on the lakes are usually within a week of each other.

Minnesota Twins to open the 2025 season with Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa, Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee on the IL?

Last year they were on the field at the same time for a combined 17 games…

Well the Braves are 0-4 and their only decent offseason signing was just suspended for 80 games for PED use. What a great start for Atlanta.

I had zero hope for this year even before the start, just lost way too many core pieces that made them special for a couple year period.   Not to mention the litany of injuries before game 1 was even played.    Team is completely broken, and the front office the last two years has made some terrible, team busting moves.   AA started smelling to many of his own farts, shipping Contresas off for Murphy, and now the Profar deal have really doomed the Braves.

They're already rebuilding, they just don't know it yet.

Torpedo bats will be the ffs of baseball :tongue77:

Apparently players have been using them since last year. That Yankee game really put them on the forefront. I’m fine with any piece of lumber that gets the Braves to start hitting. Apparently they put in an order for some. 1 run in 29 innings, I don’t even know if an aluminum bat would help.

Orioles are my team and the starting pitching is a collection of a 41 year old retread junk baller, a 35 year old japanese soft thrower, a 2nd year rookie junk baller and Kremer. Orioles with new owner Rubenstien didnt spend for a top starter, only scrap heap pitchers.

@throttleplate it was silly to have let Burnes walk. Charlie Morton though will show up in big games and he’s a horse. He can eat up a lot of innings to save the pen. As a Braves fan I miss him dearly!

@AlabamaSpothunter what do you know, they got a win! Monkey’s off their back. Glad they didn’t spoil Schwellenbach’s gem and maybe that hit barrage gave them a little confidence again. Hopefully they can at least make a push.

Bawahhaha.....I was gonna come here and hollar at you about that win 😆

All I can say, and I've said for many years now......Thank God for the Fish 🤣

Schwellenbach thus far is showing that he might be the real deal.  True ace stuff that's for sure.

Been listening to the Braves on the radio a lot. Gives it such a nostalgic feel. I have the MLB package so I can watch the Braves way up here but there is just something about listening to it on the radio while I’m out working in the garage. Joe Simpson’s voice really brings back memories of watching the Braves on TBS with my dad when I was a wee lad.

@AlabamaSpothunter first series win and it comes against Philly. That helps the heart-ache. Strider dominated in his final rehab start and should be back with Atlanta next week. Maybe the pitching can carry us and make a run? Sale will figure it out. I’m glad I drafted Schwellenbach on my fantasy team too. I had a feeling he was gonna take the next step this season.

I haven’t given up hope just yet.

Cleveland Indians were my lifelong team until they abandoned their name & heritage. No skin in the game for me now. 😥

Agreed, winning a really close game in extra innings against the Phils checks the boxes on a lot of things that the Braves needed.     Those relievers last night were super impressive.   Nice to see the new guys step up.

They gotta get the lumber going though, painful to watch this offense.

That’s 5/6 for Los Bravos. Offense is really coming around. They’re gonna do just enough to keep me hopeful. If we don’t get some help in the pen then it may not matter much.

But still, I love baseball :)

If you don’t count the first 7 games, the Braves are 13-8. Still trending in the right direction. 8-2 over their last 10. Like I said, they’re gonna keep me hopeful all year.

@AlabamaSpothunter back to .500! Braves have gone 21-14 since the disastrous start.

Orioles season allready over and its only May with 115 games left. Back to rebuilding.

@throttleplate I was wrong about Morton. Seems like he should have hung up the cleats after last season.
