Haven't really fished many jigs since I started bass fishing, but again I'm looking to expand my techniques. Picked up some 1/4oz SK Bitsy Flip jigs today after work. I bank fish and the ponds/lagoons I fish are very shallow, especially around the lilies and grass I've been catching fish on lately, so I wanted something light that would sink a little slower. I'm just looking to see what trailers y'all recommend for a small jig like the Bitsy Bug. Black and blue has been the hot color where I fish, so I got the black and blue jig and some matching black and blue Zoom Lil' Critter Craws. Any other plastics y'all think I should try?

Baby rage craws go well with that bait. 

Agreed, a blk and blue bitsy jig, with a black and blue baby rage craw... Pretty much a sure fire combo to catch fish... I love throwing it on a heavier spinning rod. Lol spinning rod help you fish slower, and slower with small jigs, just catches fish... 

Don't use them.  Maybe I just got a bad one three times, but the ones I had had dull, bronze hooks, the paint chipped easily, and the elastic skirt collar fell apart.  Spend a few extra bucks and get the kaharaba jig with a razor sharp hook and a high quality skirt and skirt collar.  

As for trailers for that jig a Zoom swimming chunk,Netbait Tiny Paca craw, small twin tail grub. But I agree with Indiana,so when you do set the hook-set it extra hard with them jigs,but you can get them with that jig!

Baby brush hog works well with those bitsy flips as a trailer. I used to fish those alot when I first started jig fishing.

When I started jig fishing it was with the Bitsy Bug/Flip, and i only used the Rage Chunk with a lot of success. Now I'm a big shot, and moved up to Siebert jigs, and still use the Rage Chunk

I've never used a Bitsy Flip, but the Bitsy Bug was the only jig I used for the past several years (until I got some Siebert jigs).  Nothing wrong with a Bitsy Bug/Flip.  The paint does chip quickly, and I found a couple with a dull hook but the bronze hook is quick and easy to sharpen with a file.  I always broke off the jigs before the elastic skirt band broke...

Oh, and a trailer?  Another vote for the Strike King Baby Rage Craw!  I usually bite one or two segments off the end to make it a little more compact.

Thanks for all your input everyone! Went out today with the intentions of throwing nothing but the jig and it paid off. I fish from the bank in a park lagoon/pond system. Caught 7 all together. No fish under 2lbs and the biggest just over 4lbs weighing in at 4lbs 2oz. I bit about 1.5in off of a 4in Pit Boss and that seemed to do the trick lol 

Pit Boss is another great trailer to use.

They make a 3" Pit Boss that would fit that jig a little better.

2/3 of a 5" senko makes a good trailer for those smaller jigs too. 

If you need something smaller and more finesse, the Bitsy Craw trailers are great little crayfish baits. Not the bigger profile or action you'll get from the Rage baits or Pit Boss, but they are great for imitating small crayfish bass gorge on pre-spawn.

I recently picked up a few Bitsy Flips  1/2 ounce  "clearance sale" and they have a big hunk of lead that extends most of the way down the shank , to give it weight and  keep the lure head compact .

 I havent used one yet but it seems like chunk style trailers will work best . I dont think attempting to threading a trailer over that "thick" piece of  lead will  be very practical .

I fish on the light side also using that same jig. Buzzbaits in the lighter side also. 
 

I’ve just been using the Zoom 4” curly tail worm in a few colors. Bite off the amount I want expose for the jig or buzzbait. 
 

What I did pick up to try as a trailer over the winter was a few packs of YUM Swim’n Dingers to try and give the sort of boot tail look vs. the ribbon tail look. Same thing I can bite them to size. I think this YUM bait as a trailer on chatterbaits is going to work out well.

Strike King makes a craw trailer for the Bitsy Bug and Bitsy Flip jigs. I've got a few packs. I either got them at Bass Pro Shop or Academy.

kudos to you to have the bravery to bite powerbait. Nice fish!

I like the netbait paca craw chunks for strike king bitsy bug jigs, but I've never used a bitsy flip jig, so I dont know if they would work as well
