That spoon is a pretty substantial hunk of metal. Most of two ounces.

I use a MH swimbait rod rated to 4 oz.

If you don't have enough rod for those, but want to get your feet wet with spoons, I highly suggest Nichols 3/4 oz Larry and Flutter spoons. Both are excellent, but the hooks could be better.

I have heavy swimbait rods so I ordered some up, these appear to be a little different than the flutter and will be interesting to see if they work in my lake which we have LOTS of gizzard shad and sounds like it works well on straight line retrieve...will be interesting to see if it works around docks etc.

The BOGO is only good for the day. Each day it changes so you need to grab what you want if it’s in stock.

Discount tackle is running 20% off of all VMC, Berkley, frogs, braided line and some other stuff. I ordered new vmc Neko hooks and they were about $2 off normal price.

They were doing 20% Yamamoto branded tackle but, I think that sale has ended. However, I just order a pack of black and blue senkos and they still took .80 off. The senkos I bought last week were 20% off

They ship fast too. They are located in Oregon . I pay the $3.99 economy shipping and get my package 3 days later in Mid-Michigan.

I’ve bought from them for a long time now. Originally from their EBay store. I always have my products in my mailbox before a lot tackle places that are a lot closer to me.

The one time I used it I added both items in equal quantities and when I went to checkout they discounted half of them. Ben did mention something about people not selecting the size/color options with the grass piece and sakamata promo on their Sunday video and he jokingly warned people he’d start giving them the 2” sakamata shad.

I’m not sure why it didn’t work for you.
