What baits work well for you when your fishing in the rain ? And do You fish any certain places ?

I just recently tried this over the weekend. Didn't get one bite 

You can do really well during the rain, just like any other condition.  Lure selection is still based on what you're fishing, just like any other time.  

Same ones that work when it ain't raining!

Fish tend to roam more when it's cloudy and/or rainy. They seem to hang tight on structure when it's sunny.

Top water baits.

Topwaters. I like the Torpedo and buzzbaits in the rain.

Someone once told me fish don't care if it's raining... they're already wet....   

I have had a lot of success fishing in the rain I caught this one on a baby brush hog in the rain.

rattletrap,spinnerbait,worm,crankbait…………………anything works in the rain….as long as they're bitting.

Only thing I change when it starts raining is changing into my rain gear. Their taste don't change because it's raining. They will get more active a lot of the time though, so you can usually get a bite going on moving baits. 

It can be funny around here.  Sometimes the rain makes the bass bite more, and sometimes it turns off the bite. I just keep going through the tackle bag until I find something that those bass like.

Does the weight of the bait matter much ?

In the light summer rain I like spinnerbaits, inline spinners, spinflys, besides cranks and top water baits. During the middle of the day I was using the joesfly 1/4" oz bass size in fire tiger Apache. The mix of chartreuse colors seems to attract them well. The strike king inline spinner with a silver blade and black buck tail worked ok too but in the low light a brighter color can work better.

in the rain i like the inlines and spinflys. I stand in the middle of the drop off on shore and skip fan cast the whole area. I caught 19 bass and two weird pink and white colored fish.  They had a sunfish or bluegill shape with a pink colored back and white sides.

I get super excited when I see rain in the forecast, I always do the best in the rain. I'll usually use a popper and pop it really aggressively. If that doesn't work out then I'll resort to a crank bait for clear water and a chatter bait if there is some stain. I find that the bass are really active in the rain and I always keep a topwater out for schoolies.

Did my research, reading, watching vids. Tried topwater, sub surface, cranks. No bites. Switched to jig fishing pulled out 2. First rain fishing trip of the year was a success. 

 

 

Sometimes when it first starts raining, or a light rain can really turn on the bite. I think everyone knows buzzbaits and poppers are effective in the rain, but I've had good luck with spinnerbaits and crankbaits as well.

A few years back a buddy and I fishing in the rain in Kayaks and started tossing spinner baits randomly and it was one of the best couple hours of fishing ever had they went nuts.  Maybe the rain didn't have anything to do with it but they tore up that old War Eagle spinner bait for both of us.  Then the lightning rolled in so we had to park it for little bit and eat lunch.  

My go to is a popper. It just seams the rain just makes the fish angry at them.

somehow when it is raining I have more bites, I was night time fishing and rain/storm starts, few people on the lake left and I was only one there from 5PM to 11 I catch 3 on Carolina rig.
