Best Frog

Featured Replies

Trying to decide whether to go with the Livetarget or the Booyah Pad Crasher...

They are both great frogs, and both catch fish about equally as well.  The difference is that the livetarget frog seems to last a little longer than the pad crasher, but the trade off is that the pad crasher has a slightly higher hooking percentage because it is softer.  I personally prefer the pad crashers because I can get two of them for the same price as one livetarget frog, so the difference in durability is more than made up and they do have a slightly better hooking percentage than the livetarget's.

BTW, try the popping pad crasher (in the cricket frog or dart frog patterns), it shows them something a little different than what they're used to which has made a huge difference for me.

i would recommend the pad crasher, works well and the bass don't know it only costs six bucks.

They are both good. Any opinions you get are just that. Opinions.

I like lun.ker hunt and zoom's horny toad.

Both Booyah and Live Target make good hollow body frogs.

the pad crasher is a great frog, get a light and dark color.

Yeah, I've had good success with both of those frogs. For purchasing I'll pull the trigger on Livetargets if I see a good deal, but at full price, pad crasher all the way. I haven't really found any advantages over the pad crasher to be worth the extra price for most other frogs.

Popping Pad Crasher in Cricket Frog is MONEY! Durability leaves something to be desired though.

The Spro Bronzeye Popping frog did a lot of work for me this year too.

Looking forward to getting some of the Savage Gear popping frogs whenever they come available too. I have some of their regular frogs and they get crushed, but I prefer popping frogs because of the style of frogging I do.

I've done just a well with Academy's H2O as any on the market

Thanks for all the replies and help!

Both really good. I would get a pair of booyah frogs when they go on sale for buy on get one half off and get 1 of each size.

The Live Target Frog is also really good, The 55T is the most popular size but due to the softness, the hook up ratio is good on the 65T if you want a bigger profile.

I would not worry about color all that much. Just get the colors you like best for topwater lures in the lakes you fish. Hard to beat the quality & Price of the Booyah Frogs, pound for pound maybe the best?

Can't go wrong either way imo.

Try the Rage Tail Toad, you might be surprised!

I like both the Live Target and Booyah frogs. I go with the Pad Crashers though as they're almost half the price of the Live Target and don't seem to have any drawbacks.

Ive pretty much stopped throwing frogs for toads.

In heavy cover i can stop the toad.

In more open water if i need to pause on surface Ill go frog or a popper

pad crasher and padcrasher jr, get a green a white and a black and your set.

I actually find the booyah pad crasher to last longer then the live target. Plus the pad crasher has a popping version. But my go to frog is a river2sea frog

Not a "frog" but if I could only bring one, it would be a LiveTarget field mouse in white. I caught more decent bass on that this year than anything else, and I absolutely live for top water strikes.

They're all good. I've had success with Spro, Booyah and SK KVD.

calm day - any decent frog - windy day - furbit

Thanks for all of the replies..

I love the way the Live Target sits in the water. But the Booyah Pad Crasher in dart frog has been my best frog easily. The Pad Crasher Jr. Isn't a bad way to go either.Plus they are 4 bucks cheaper than the Live Target.
