Points wise, Tharp was the choice - one of the few times a Bucket A choice will give you some distance on the rest of the field.  I think the other difference maker will turn out to be Mueller in buck

If you look at the way that points are awarded in Fantasy Fishing rules, you are awarded the same number of points no matter how many other people have picked a particular angler. HOWEVER, (my pers

I was looking forward to the ham...

You weren't the only one...by the way, what do you say the person in last place is forced to remind Indiana Finesse what his password is?

Looking at some of his scores, maybe the person in last place should just make Indiana Finesse's picks for him :D...

With that comment, I believe I have just Karma'd myself into pulling up the rear next year.

Who else is watching the Bracket Shootout today?

And can anyone explain why Steve Kennedy is in this? He won Dardanelle back in June.

A win doesn't punch your ticket to the classic with the exception of I think winning the classic and Bassfest I think.

About 3 years ago, the Elite series changed their rules so that it is no longer "win & you are in" the Classic.  That is why Rick Clunn and others who won in 2016 weren't in the last Classic and why John Murray & Timmy Horton aren't in the upcoming Classic.

Winning an Open event, assuming you fish all 3 of a regions events, does still qualify you.

Yeah, I had some pretty bad bombs, especially at Okeechobee..  Still got 16th in the group I think, and I was in the upper 80s percentile in the first account before I forgot that password.  Don't know what my percentile ended up being, if you add up all the scores from various accounts.

Interesting... You can win an Elite event and not get in, but winning an open does get you in...

How are they running the Bracket Shootout? Are both anglers in the same boat?

From what I understand, quite a few Elite anglers wanted the change.  The Classic competitors are supposed to be the best anglers from the previous year with a couple of amatuers or non-Elites mixed in (for what is a once in a lifetime experience for most in the latter group).  If someone wins an Elite event and still ends up ranked in 70th place for the year, many anglers consider that win a fluke and not worthy of qualifying for the Classic.

The Opens are 9 shots a year against very large local fields, which may be tougher to do than finishing 37th in the Elites for the year.  The Classic qualifiers from Bass Nation & the College series have quite a gauntlet to run to make it.

Nope, they are in different boats.  It's live today through Friday.

i hope Adrian can find away to pull it out today. I like his style. All four on the other side I could pull for though.

I joined the BR Crew late, but had a lot of fun.  I'll be in from the start next time.  Thanks @massbassin508!

First elite event is February 8-11th at Lake Martin. Registration will probably open up in 2-3 weeks.

Missed getting in last but will this year for sure.

Hopefully this year I can take home the Circuit City gift card!!

I'm in again, and this time around I'll write my password down on a piece of paper in the back of my Bible or something so I don't forget or lose it 3 times like last year:annoyed1:

Exactly one month until the first event on Lake Martin. Should we start a 2018 Fantasty Fishing thread?

Looks like they haven't opened up the fantasy fishing registration yet on the Bassmaster website.

I'm good with either starting a 2018 thread or keep this one going. I wish they would pin this to keep it at the top and maybe bring some more interest to it.

The more I think about it maybe doing a 2018 one might be better so any new comers don't think that they can't get in? Just thinking out loud.
