BassPro Big February Sale?

Featured Replies

When is Bass Pro's big sale where you can trade in rods/reels etc.? I know it's in February but since i haven't seen the ad's yet I'm guessing maybe the end of February?

Starts on February 17th.

The 17th is what Bass Pro told me yesterday as well, so now that you have read it on the internet twice, it has to be true.

I have been waiting for this sale also. I'm going to get 2 helix 7 si g2n units and a couple of the PQ2 reels.

I don't remember them doing that much for sales, seems like they only brought a few items down in price to where most companys charge originally anyways.

this is when i use my Christmas gift card.

The Spring Classic used to be so much better, but

the last few years has largely been on BPS brand

products (save for the trade-ins) and with each

year it seems less is offered. Darn shame, really

because it was *the* event to find early deals.

And with a little searching you can usually find the rod or reel you're after in the trade in for even cheaper somewhere unless specifically after a BPS brand rod or reel.

yep. it's frustrating. i'll usually only buy my plastics and hooks on line, in bulk, provided they still offer my brands, at sale prices. i have the gift card anyways

you know come to think about it our Bass  Pro here in Memphis has never had a sale.  They offer a lot of things for sale.  They send me circulars 8 or 10 times a year but the prices never change. Nevertheless I still continue to frequent their establishment and spend countless paychecks there.   I guess they trying to pay for that big pyramid downtown.  Which is kind of neat if ya think about it,  How many other cities can say they have a bait shop incorporated in their skyline?

Shop on-line fishing electronics stores for your Helix finders, you'll most likely safe enough to buy another reel even with the Bass Pro sale.

I looked at a few and the prices were about the same but i don't know any of the reputable stores. Could you point me in the right direction?

Ill buy 2 PQ1s

Sales certainly aren't what they used to be but I always find something to spend my money on when it kicks off.

BOEmarine,GPS nation, digital oasis. From talking to the guys in the electronics forum these are reputable and authorized dealers. Don't hesitate to ask guys in the electronics forum.

I remember when I use to drive to Maryland for the BPS spring sale before we had one in PA. Now I wouldn't drive the hour to go to it. The sales aren't worth it when you can get the same or better stuff off the internet at a better price.

I guess if you wanted one of their rod or reels it would good, never see anything that I need or want on sale.

  • 1 month later...

I picked up 5 cotton Cordell crank baits for $10. And I traded in a rod and reel so I could save $10 on a pflueger president 30 and $10 off a 10ft OFA surf rod. I love how it feels in the driveway, can't wait to test it out on the sand.

Bargain hunters or those who I consider "experienced" fishermen and women will not frequent BPS or Cabela's for their sales UNLESS...it's for product that they use everyday (Gamakatsu/Line/weights, etc.) For the newest gear the big box stores normally don't carry it and rarely put it on sale.  I have been working the Spring and Fall events at BPS and Cabela's for over 20 years.  Now there are some non store branded baits that they do carry that if they are your choice in plastics/cranks etc., then you can get some deals.  BPS carries a lot of Zoom plastics and Strike King product for example.  These stores are more destination locations than serious tackle outlets.
