i was looking up on the internet about how to fish deep stained water. kept find info on muddy water. 

i have a place with stained water. shoreline is clear.  water visibility is 1 to 3 feet . water deff has a stain to it. its a small pond 11 acres. but its deep 30 feet. ive caught some big fish up shallow. but i think the bigger fish are staying deep.

You have six feet of visibility?  I usually consider that fairly clear water and fish it as such.

odd why did it censor that! 1 to 3 feet visibility

LOL . yeah I  consider two foot as stained . One inch is muddy .

@Mr. Aquarium, what did you learn about fishing muddy water?  Any reason to think those ideas won't help you in stained water? 

The light penetration might not reach 30 foot in water that stained . It will ten foot  probably 20 . Yes , they might be deep . Get some fast falling bottom bouncers and try it .

when i think of muddy water i mean like muddy water a foot or less viability, but when i search for stained water fishing advice it always come up as muddy water advice  
is there a difference between the way you fish muddy/murky water vs stained water.  
i love shallow stained water! fishin jigs in trees!  never fished a deep stained water pond! 

Can anyone recommend articles or posts here that discuss fishing for bass in muddy water?

i got fish here on shiners in 30 feet, but never really fished deep with lures in stained water!  ive tried before with some big swimbaits! they LOVE big swimbaits here!  havent produced much! i had a hit coming up the steep drop last time i was there in november! it was on a hudd 68, it was at the top of the drop off!  

my biggest bass 7.8 was on a deep crank 9 inch slammer! cranked along the drop off,  but that was in june! 

 

Water clarity is water clarity. Whether that water is blue, green, yellow, etc. If you can see 6 feet, you can see 6 feet. 

 

If you're asking what baits to use for deeper fish (20-30 feet), you can never go wrong with a drop shot, carolina rig, or football jig. 

The difference is simple, tea is stained water, add cream and it's muddy water.

I had some water in a few ponds while in CT that looked like coffee.  Is this what were talking about here.  The same green pumpkin jigs and worms worked and the natural shad colors with white and silver were also good.  For some reason i figured that gold bladed spinner baits would rule here but the silver still worked better.  I feel like total visibility is the big part and guys liked black worms there a lot.  

3' visibility is pretty clear in our lakes, but most of the fish stay pretty shallow all year because there isn't much out deeper and most of the bottoms are mud or clay. I've had my best luck in deeper water with baits like a 10" worm, football jig, or 6XD. If you're shore bound, I'd be slinging a football jig or C-rig and dragging it up those drop offs. 

Stained is tea, muddy is chocolate milk. 

Try using spinnerbaits,buzzbaits,lipless crankbaits,propbaits, and bright colored soft plastics in waters that have low water visibility.

30 foot deep in stained water might be  to deep . I fish stained water all the time and that is deeper than where I catch fish .I catch them at 20 foot a lot .  

My water clarity is roughly the same. This past year i caught a fair amount in water up to 20' on jigs and deep crankbaits. Deeper than that i have not had much luck.

C-rig is my go-to in stained, deep water. Can't go wrong with a baby brush hog.
