Does everyone only Wacky Rig Senkos?

 

I Wacky Rig Trick Worms, Bass Assassin Tapout worms, Creme Scoundrels, Roboworm FX Worms, & various Finesse worms.

I usually just texas rig them behind a bullet sinker, but both ways definitely work.

I'm wacky enough to wacky rig anything I think would catch a fish. I've been meaning to try a fluke wacky but haven't any flukes right now ?

Haven't experimented much with the wacky rig as of now. However when I did I tried Yum Dingers, Shim E Sticks, finesse worms, Centipedes and even an Ol' Monster that the tail had been bitten off of. Only one that worked so far was the Centipede.

I tried the trick worm. it did not seem to get as many bites wacky rigged as a senko.

I have used the BPS stick-o it seemed to work ok.

I use senko type baits as one of my go to baits and I NEVER wacky rig them.

I use a 1/8oz c-rig with a 24" leader with a 349w eagle claw weedless hook with a senko wacky rigged. I have a ball bearing locking snap swivel on the leader she I can change baits in the dark much easier.

 

i use a 1/8oz brass bullet weight with a brass clicker, a few beads with a Carolina keeper adjustable leader. When I twitch the rod tip it rattles the clicker.

I'm glad you brought this up Catt. I was just thinking today that I had never caught a bass on a wacky rigged anything. I've tried wacky rigging senkos, 4" worms, and finesse worms and never caught a thing. I have caught bass on texas rigged senkos and worms but never wacky rigged. Its odd.

I have not caught much on weightless wacky rigs.

I have had good success wacky rigging with a 1/32 or 1/16 oz wacky jig, and letting it drop along weed lines.

Nope.  Texas unweighted, weighted, Zappu heads, wacky drop shot, wacky with a wide gap finesse and a rare Carolina rig. Versatile bait. 

Nah, trick worms, mag finesse worms, french fries, flukes, pretty much whatever I have if they're eating it.

I'm in the minority here as a stick worm is the only plastic I wacky rig.  4in. to 8in.  I feel if wacky rigging is going to work, my best option is with a worm with plenty of wiggle on the fall and I don't think there is a better wiggle than on a 6in. Senko.  I even take it one step further.  This is the only way I rig one.  I know and have fished with guys that T-rig, C-rig, drop-shot and any number of other ways with them, but I just have more confidence with other plastics for those presentations.

I've wacky rigged almost all styles of my soft plastics

at one time or another.

 

Fat Ika, minnow baits, creature baits, jig trailers

 

Most successful non-senko rigs for me: minnow baits

(specifically yamamoto shad shape worm), Zoom Finesse

and Trick worms.

Wacky rigged a Z-drop worm on a 1/20 Zman Shroomz and caught small bass with it in clear water.

@papajoe222 ya ever throw a Tapout worm?

I wacky rig any worm once the nose is too ripped to t-rig it.  So far nothing has worked as well as a senko, but 6' robos on a light wacky jig/flickshake are showing some promise.  

I almost never use a senko I favor the dean rojas worms.  The fall is a lot slower and they have a lot of good movement 

I only wacky rig senkos, never texas rig them, when I need a texas rig I'll typically go to a ribbontail worm

i can't bring my self to fish a wacky style soft plastic.  I have tried but i get to bored with the technique.  I tend to weightless weedless rig them myself.  

Tried wacky rigging a buzzbait but didn't catch anything.

Hey, @fishwizzard! I gotta admit I am just starting to experiment with wacky-rigged stickbaits and I suck at it. So ... can you tell me how to wacky rig a six-foot anything? I have a chunk of old garden hose all ready but I'll be darned if I can find a hook for it.  Sorry! Just couldn't resist but the typo caught my eye and I've been giggling to myself all day trying to imagine a bass seeing a six-foot roboworm drifting down.  (I know it was a typo.)  And since I have NEVER caught anything on a wacky rig or even a senko, I'm just gonna crawl back under my rock now! (Still giggling!)

I like em on a weightless t rig, you can dart them through super heavy cover and even walk the dog if you catch it right.  

 

I could never get into the wacky rig.  Maybe someday.
