Yeah ...  I just decided to keep service to a semi annual schedule.  I will be changing my oil twicr a year.  25/40 summer and 10/30 winter.  I will probably change gear oil twice, fuel filter once a year unless dirty.  I will do the major service in 2 and half to 3 years.

Currently I am running a new wire and installing a circuit breaker box.

  • Hey it floats!  Almost a week and I finally got it out on the water.  I'm following the break-in instructions for the engine, so I couldn't open it up.  I got the first hour out of the way.  I went to

Got my boat today!  Already about to get it opened up to install some gear.  Everything is really accessible and there should be no issues at all.  My dealer gave two tracker shirts to us... Almost ga

Cool!.

I did a oil and filter change at 25 hours. I am rather particular on that kind of upkeep then at the 100 hour mark again. Then 1 year or every 100 hours after that the gear lube every year or 100 hours. This insane rain we been having keeps us off the water I am hoping to go at least once this month.

I cannot wait to get this dang boat out of my garage.  I have not had the time to get this stuff installed and done due to other things keeping me away.  Besides that, just little nuances where the desire of perfection is overwhelming.

I finally decided to run some 10 gauge wir3/e to a fuse box.  The livescope is mounted under the console.  The transducer cable is long enough to go from the trolling motor to the console.  I have done a lot more modifications along the way.  There is light at the end of the tunnel... Hopefully tomorrow I will get the boat out.

Reminds me of when I installed all of the lights on my FJ.  What started as a project to put lights on the rear so I could retrieve my boat from a dark lake easier enee up being a complete overhaul.  I will have to take a day off to finish the boat

It’s been fun watching your progress and modifications along the way. You definitely don’t do things half a$$ that’s for sure. Good work!

I almost bought a prop nut the other day at bass pro.  Have you noticed any improvements?

Jaime,

What trolling motor stabilizer did you install?

less vibration, plus the fact you can take on and off quickly with no tools is nice.the orange color matches perfectly too.

Need your opinions...

I am now thinking of going with two fish finders up front...  the new 93sv for livescope only.  I will use the striker for the down, sonar and depth... If livescope cannot do depth without the transducer.

If I just leave it as is, I will just have the 93sv doing it all.  It can split screen and I can put the striker on the kayak .. I have other fish finders so, putting the striker on a kayak only adds down view, create maps, color, etc.  Ok, it does add benefits of to the kayak.. but still

I am also recessing my foot pedal Friday... The tray arrives Thursday, so adds keep pushing me back, lol.  I am also trying to create a network hub.  I know, over $3500 in product and I am trying to avoid paying $200 for a Garmin nework hub.  Exactly, I need to save cause I will be eating boat carpet for the next month.

Bought that same hour meeter.  How did you book it up?  Is it always eating the battery or is it wired to the Motor... To the key switch?!  Help me out.  I might buy that one since you have it and it obviously works.

Vessel view is on sale for 149 bucks.  I assume it will monitor your hours etc.  I ordered it but have not had a chance to install yet

Where did you mount the speakers

On the seat pedestals facing forward sounds good dont take up that much room under the seats either.

It hooks up to a power lead when you have the key on. So it dont eat power as if it has power to it it will keep counting. Only time my ignition is on is when the motor is running.

I think I paid 79 or 89 at Crutchfield for my stereo. I did change the speakers out for some that were a bit better. we are happy with it.

Can you take a pic of the speakers?  How are they mounted?

I cant take a picture today but I plan to pull the boat out tomorrow to give it a bath and vacuum then finish cleaning it up and do some organizing. But on the front of the seats on that plastic just cut the proper size hole I used a hole saw for it since I have one the right size you can use a jigsaw anything you can get to fit. then you just mount them up with the screws.

Here is a picture of one of the speakers where I mounted them.

Minnow,

I was thinking about doing the same with my boat this spring (assuming Spring ever comes).  But in thinking about mounting the speakers there, I am concerned about losing structural support for the seat (and my fat arse).

Did you do anything to reinforce the seat base around the speaker?  I was looking for some sort of metal mounting ring that would support the vertical force so the speaker's not taking that force.  Was also thinking of just doing a plywood backing to reinforce it.

Probably worried about nothing, but I have a tendency to over-engineer and it usually works for me.

The base is thick wont hurt a thing. I am 6' tall 250 pounds no issues.

I did go to a 51/4 inch speaker over the 61/2 inch ones that came with the stereo just so I didnt have to cut such a big hole. Ive taken my buddy out couple times and he is 6'7 350 these seat bases are tough.

Installed the recessed foot controller tray.  Very easy... The hardest part was digging ng out the foam.  I suggest a garden tool to do it. Very easy then too bad I didn't think of it until I was almost done.  Jigsaw also makes cuttin the wood easy.

I made a guide out of cardboard, taped it down, cur the carpet, the wood, then dig out the foam.

I will run the drain tube tommorow morning.

Thanks.  We need to make a wiki.

. first thing you need to do, cut the deck.  There is a general amount of space to move the uning front, back, side to side to get it where you want.  This needs to be done before tackling the trolling motor.  Once the deck is cut, you can put any trolling motor on you want because you will have all the space you need.  This the same if you need to run wires up front.

Just do it.  Getting he box from eBay sold by GPS City.  They are on Amazon and sell from their website.  I have bought a lot of fish findee accessories from them over the years.  Fast shipping, mine was here in 3 days

Ry hard to mess it up.  You do not have to worry about hitting any beams.  I will make some actual instructions and post them soon.

I haven't decided if I really want to put a recessed tray in.Not to sure I would like it. Would hate to install one and not like it.
