  • Hey it floats!  Almost a week and I finally got it out on the water.  I'm following the break-in instructions for the engine, so I couldn't open it up.  I got the first hour out of the way.  I went to

Got my boat today!  Already about to get it opened up to install some gear.  Everything is really accessible and there should be no issues at all.  My dealer gave two tracker shirts to us... Almost ga

Mine has the same, just not as bad. Confined to the orange pinstripes. I moved it this winter with the cover on, and just thought it was from the cover. I have only tried rubbing alcohol (I was putting the registration numbers on). It didn't take it off.

Which 5 did you use?  No sense suggesting them again.

Dont know what you used on it but have you tried toon brite?

A friend of mine used this stuff called awesome on his boat cleaned all kinds of stuff off his. Don't know if it would clean that. I would think BPS would of taken care of that under warranty being that bad.

Have tried rubbing alcohol, starbrite instant black streak remover, flitz polish, and booyah non acid hull cleaner amogst other things

50/50 white vinegar and water is what I use on the entire boat. It’s taken everything I needed off the boat.

I had a such a great night out for crappie.  I have been working with my livescope for some time getting the hand of it and all, especially at night.  Below is just a short set of videos and pictures.  We were catching slab crappie the whole time.

I am waiting on my Classic to come in, should be around the end of June. I am thinking the only upgrades I am wanting to do is install a bigger gas tank and build an extension to the front deck, if anyone has a video of themselves doing that it would be awesome. I have been reading everything on here as well as watching all the videos of the Heritage and Classic I can find on youtube (Thanks Jaime and Mark). Just wanted to let y'all know that you guys are keeping me sane while I wait!! And keep the info flowing

The black marks I had came off with Turtle Wax polish and elbow grease.

So I don't know if it's me or what, but I've noticed some people tend to get a little close to my rear when I have to stop.  I ran across this prop cover a few weeks back from Prop Alert.  The small fits our props pretty well.

:dontknow:

My son and I picked up our new Classic a couple of weeks ago and have not been able to get out to fish with it yet but we were able to get out with it for the 2 hour break in procedure. So far so good. I do have a question about the trolling motor......when the trolling motor is lifted up out of the water is it better to have the propeller facing inward inside the boat or outward or doesnt it make a difference? The reason I ask is that when the prop is inward it seems to naturally slide along the aft rubber padding with the risk of cutting the pad I can actually see a very faint line where its starting to do it.

I have mine inward with cover on prop when not on water.when Iam fishing I just leave it whatever way it comes up.Do have cut in pad from turning on accidentally while inward.

Yeah, mine is always inward for cover and now because of my livescope.  I too have a cut on pad, lol!

I think I'm going to put down some sort of protectant on that area. I'll need to make it a habit to turn the motor off or unplug it when not in use.

That's pretty cool.  I've had people actually hit my prop in traffic or in a parking lot.  The props were stainless, so the damage was always to their vehicle.  This might prevent that difficult conversation afterward.

Has anyone used the Stick It Brake on their Heritage/Classic or a boat similar size? If so, did it work ok?

I had to search that.  I've been using a 12 lb river anchor.  Were you considering the bracket or just the stick with a rope?

I was looking at getting both. It looks to me like a manual version of the Micro Power Pole.

Well...  I did have a good evening of fishing but a couple of things happened before I got to the lake.

First, I noticed my skeg on the boat was damaged.  I do not know how it happened...  I saw it when I went to unplug the boat battery.  All I can. Think is one boat ramp that is really shallow, but I usually have my motor trimmed.  I plan to file it smooth and then paint it.  I saw a spec of oranges.  So I think it is a steel alloy.

Secondly... I decided to put my cooler in the boat... Something told me to put it in the truck, but I didn't listen.  When I got to the gas station, my cooler was gone!!!    The dang trailer is so bouncy.  I just hope it didn't cause an accident.  I went back that night to find it and I did not find it...

So I got to the lake really sad, besting up myself... Then I caught some nice crappie ??

Your cooler story reminded me of when I was a kid. We were going walleye fishing and on the way we went through an intersection and hit a bump! We looked back and saw a couple dozen minnows flickering in the summer sun on the pavement.

I thought it was just me and I was doing something wrong, the trailer bouncing so much.

Sorry you lost your cooler.

Ok, so I filed and painted the skeg a few days ago.  It's a horrible paint job, but the metal is sealed an protected again.

I never found the cooler... I think someone stopped and took it home.

The skeg is sacrificial, and that small amount of wear will not affect performance.  Think of it like a bumper for protecting your prop.  You scrap it before your prop.  Nice clean repair Jaime.

You may want to invest in a Skeg Guard

I've never understood these products - a guard to protect something that protects the prop.  I guess you could hide a badly damaged skeg with one, but if it was that bad, it's not that expensive to repair.
