If you slow down too suddenly water will definitely rush into the back of the boat. I noticed there’s always water in my live well. I’ve never used it nor turned on the pump. Driving in reverse shoving water into it from the pick up on the transom?

never had a drop in my livewell.

The only existing holes in the boat are two through the transom and the one just above the water line where the live well comes out (also the bilge, but it's high).  If I remember correctly your deck should be a little wet under the drivers console if it's a hose on the live well.  I would definitely check the plug hole and hose connection coming in for the live well.  Check both from the outside, wiggle or spin, also to make sure they are properly attached "welded?" to the transom.

Other than an actual hole in the boat, I'm not sure what else to check for.  Let us know how it goes.  :Captain:

Do you use your livewell?

The livewell has an overflow drain that leads our of the drain, but anything that is above that will leak over and go to under the floor.

Going fast, then slowing down or stopping abruptly will allow the water rushing up from behind to cover the transom.  I usually make a turn when I am coming to stop so that the water will not come to the back of the boat.

Drain plug... Well the ones that came with the boat are supposed to go from the inside out.  I usually do not take mine off of the boat anymore.  I use to get water in my boat, but lately it's been bone dry.

I suspect this might be the cause. On the last occasion that I got water in the boat, my experienced boater friend reprimanded me for slowing down too fast because it is bad for the transmission.  It was a habit I just started prior to the problem and stopped after being warned. It probably isn’t a coincidence that water stopped getting in the boat.

Thanks guys.

Your not the only one...my wife uses my tracker like a cheap garage shelf

Got the call today, I pick mine up on Tuesday. Even get to use it a few weeks before football starts up, I was afraid it would come in after and I wouldn't be able to get good use until next spring. So pumped right now!

Well the boat shed is enclosed alarmed have camera system in it already.

Replaced the sonars battery's tanks did the y valve mod so I don't break the fuel fitting while out on the lake seems to work good ran boat for 30 minutes on muffs.

Heading out in near future to go do some much needed fishing. Just dont know how much fishing I get to do this year just bought the ole lady new 2019 corolla hatchback xse paid half down on it.

She is stoked to say the least.

Dang shame we have to secure our "stuff" like we do.

I really hate the seat posts in this boat.  I can never get them tight, and when lose they make a terrible noise (LOUD) as shift in the chair.  I've tried to muscle the posts in, of course they always come lose.  I got a strap wrench, but even then they still come lose :mad6:

So what I have done is drill a 1/4" hole at the bottom of the pole and insert a screw driver to twist the post down tight.  Avoid the set pin that's close by.

It's tight now, but I think over time it will still come lose.  As you can see below only about 1/3 of the thread is used when the pole is all the way in.  I only did the front as an experiment.  I'll do the back if it works better this way.  :occasion14:

Had this exact same issue with my new Triton 18tx I just bought 2 months ago. On mine the space between the nut on the base and where the pedestal stopped was too far apart.  The only right fix would have been new bases which would have been pulling up carpet and all that on a brand new boat. I took my pedestals to work and took an old pedestal and cut the threaded part off and added about a quarter inch in length and welded them back up. They work just fine but quite ridiculous to have to do this on a new boat or have them start pulling up carpet to fix.

But it works so well... O wonder why not make it the default... Oh yeah, accessories make money ?

I saw a difference with the upgrade.  I hope you do as well.

Seriously that sucks you had all that stuff stolen.

When I lived near in Ohio, I learned to always locked everything.

I was at my first tournament and someone stole one of the trailers while the guys were fishing the tournament.

So you need a lock for the trailer, the hitch and the spare tire. SMH

Now that I live in TN, I routinely see people leave their graphs on their boats parked in the dock

My neighbor will leave just the screen door open at night so he can still get a breeze thru the house

Meanwhile, I've got everything locked up, motion detector flood lights and cameras set up.

Still cant shake the distrust of other people and thats pretty sad

Also awesome job getting the lady a car, always good to be the hero every now and then!!

I know what you mean.  When I lived in Arkansas, most people do not lock the door.  Keys are left in the car.  I was just in Nebraska, same thing.  Doors not locked.  I have had many people get mad at me because they are locked out after I was there all because I have a habit of locking everything up.    Even as good as I am about locking things up, I am a little more trusting than my wife who has lived in CA all of her life.

I try not to leave anything on or in my boat.  My boat locked at the hitch and sometimes I lock the wheels.  Now I will start locking my batteries and gas up.  Just a shame.

Shoot, I'm from Miami and I lock everything up. My wife asks me why I do it, and I tell her I lived in Miami.

Picked up the boat today and ran it down to the lake with a buddy. Ran the engine for a little while and played with the trolling motor and fish finder. My buddy caught a couple bass while I was playing with everything like a kid. Can't wait to take it out again. Love this boat so far.

When it rains in my boat water collects in the storage compartments under the seats. I was expecting these to be water tight. Anyone else have this problem? I guess it goes without saying that these boats don’t have an automatic bilge Pump? If I leave it in the pond and it rains hard that’s a real problem!

Yep, water gets in everywhere when it rains.  You would think with that groove around the top of the box, it would help keep water out .  If you keep the boat out with no cover, you will always have wet compartments (mold :tongue6:).  On the water you will also need to wire an auto-bilge switch.  :occasion14:

I keep my boat on the driveway with the cover on it. my main issue is that my boat is sloped downward and when it rains water gets into the back hatch and settles in the front of the boat. I continually raise it up to try to keep it level and I put a tarp over the cover and motor to try to keep the water out.

Adding an auto bilge switch is fairly easy, so you should consider it. I don't get water in my seat box with the cover all. finally I keep no damp water collection containers in the dry, excuse me, wet storage box.  If you let water stay in this box, everything molds. If it can r us, it will rust. when I did was drill drain holes in that hatch so water at least would not stand in there.

Thanks, I installed an auto switch on the bilge Pump today. I’m putting necessary papers in a small dry box in the box in the back deck. It seems to stay fairly dry in there. I’m putting nothing under the seats because it’s going back in the pond and summer rains are coming frequently now. At least now when I wake up and there’s a thunderstorm I won’t have to worry about the boat because of the auto switch. It still puzzles me how all that water gets under the seats and doesn’t run out.

Maybe I should drill holes in the under seat compartments so at least the water can get out?

Do you have a cover?  Unless you continually dry your compartments and gear after every rain, your going to have a mold problem.  The only way around it that I can think of is to keep the water out in the first place :dontknow:

It's been quite here.  I've been running pretty solid this summer.  I wish the boat would stay cleaner.  The carpet is like a lint brush.  It catches everything, especially cottonwood fuzz.  Yesterday the Hook read a water temperature of 83 ̊, so the scum is baking a line around the hull .  I need some time to clean, no real complaints.  I'm finally starting to catch some fish of size.  Up until now I've been only catching aquarium size fish :fish-bowll-3:

My next project is to run strip LED's along the inside gunnels.  I got the OEM switches and the lights, I just need to gather some wire to get it done.   :Captain:

I keep catching them in my Heritage! Great little boat for the money!
