Tracker 2018 Heritage/2019 Classic edition boat

Featured Replies

It's been quite here lately :paranoid:.  Last season when I changed my lower unit oil for the first time, I noticed the plug screws were not very tight.  I probably could have taken them out with my finger nail, and of course I had water in the oil.  All summer in the back of my mind I'm wondering about the lower unit and water.  Fast forward to this fall and I changed the oil...no water :happy-cheerleader-130:.  Kind of a relief.

  • Hey it floats!  Almost a week and I finally got it out on the water.  I'm following the break-in instructions for the engine, so I couldn't open it up.  I got the first hour out of the way.  I went to

Got my boat today!  Already about to get it opened up to install some gear.  Everything is really accessible and there should be no issues at all.  My dealer gave two tracker shirts to us... Almost ga

    The Heritage just plain works!

Just took my boat out this evening.  Had a great time.  Hunting has taking me away from fishing, lol!  Had to get some in and had a great time.  I just love this boat.

Once I get don't hunting, I just might go ahead and pull the trigger on the Garmin force.  I just need and an ATV or keep/small truck for hunting.

Saying adios I sold my heritage went back to ranger the heritage was just to small to under powered for my needs.

Good starter boat just was not for me. Pretty bad took delivery june 2018 and 18 months later only 27 hours.

Just got to be more of a headache for me instead of being a good downsizing for me. Went with the ranger 1880ms. Enjoy your boats. It just was not for me.

Wow, that is a considerable step up from the Heritage.  I just watched a Ranger video on the 1880MS.  I like the step down from the front deck.  I think down the road some sort of step will be in my future :wiseman:.  Good Luck ?.

i went from a ranger to the heritage kinda wanted to down size it just was not for me nice little boat just to little for me.

great boat to get someone on the water.

Wanting to upgrade to 24 volt terrova.Just wondering if anyone has put one on their heritage yet.

I put a 12v 55lb Terrova on my boat back in August.  Best upgrade yet.  I run two batteries in series for the 12v, but could have just a easily put them in parallel and ran a 24v TM.  I put my batteries in the small storage compartment under the front deck with a battery charger and used the original TM wiring to charge the cranking battery.  A side benefit of this is that the boat is balanced better, especially when I moved the gas tank to the other side as well.

If you check out the Heritage owners page in Facebook, you will find many post, photos, and set-ups for the Terrova.  Since the Terrova in much larger than the Edge, don't plan on using your original cover on the boat unless you put a quick disconnect on the TM so you can remove it when you put the cover on.  There are also options for mounting as it won't fit in the same position as the Edge.

One other thing I learned is that the GPS puck should be close to the middle of the boat.  I initially mounted mine on the bow but moved it to the side next to the shifting lever.  Works better in iPilot anchor mode.  I also found the universal sonar on the Terrova is very good and use it almost exclusively to fish from the bow.  As a reminder, if you mount a Lowrance fishfinder on the bow, you will need an adapter cable to connect the sonar.  I think the Terrova is set up for a Hummingbird FF, but my Lowrance Ti2 works just fine with the adapter cable.

Hope this info helps

I put the power drive with I pilot on mine. My boat had issues not running, one dealer put a fuel pump on it (didn’t fix it) and the next dealer put a fuel tank on it because it wasn’t venting and vapor locking. Any way, while it was at the dealer they fitted my cover to fit the bigger trolling motor.

going to join local club and fish a few tournaments just wondering if anyone has fished any tournaments in their heritage and if livewell can hold 5 decent bass all day.

Jump up on the Sure Life site and get educated about their products and methods.  I've been using Catch & Release for almost two decades, with great success.

The livewell is pretty small for five.  I would rig up a cooler instead.

I fished a tournament... Used the calming juice, cool water, etc.  I had 2 fish get very lethargic... One I was penalized for :(

had I gone with my first mind, I would have used the cooler.  I wired up a new aerator earlier in the year.  I have it in the live well for now, but it is ready to go into any cooler.  I am still planning the deck extension.  What I would do is make a livewell run the water lines from the current live well to the new one and used the current well for storage.

You need to keep the fish alive.  The size is not the biggest issue other than keeping them alive :).  If I would have had 5 good fish, they would have been on top of one another and possibly preventing one or all from breathing.  I did just buy a new culling system.  I plan to fish tournaments this next year again.

I remember reading Bassaholic's post on December 15th in 2017 starting this topic.  With the ads from Bass Pro and the posts here I got excited and ordered my (first) boat on January 10th of 2018.  Picked it up in March.

All the posts here have been so informative and helped me along the way with my new adventure.  And it has been a wonderful adventure!

I'm 73 now and a little more unstable in the boat - balance is an issue sometimes.  Getting on and off the boat and deploying the trolling motor (Terrova) can be sketchy!

I don't want to give up fishing so I've decided to get a pontoon boat and sell (reluctantly) my Heritage.

Just putting the word out if anyone has friends that might be interested.  I'm in Northern California and the motor has 44 hours.  Terrova, Bimini top, etc. etc.  I'm asking 11k

Thanks for a great two years of information and fun and Happy New Year to everyone.

@GPG  Well stick around.  You have to do what you have to do to fish comfortably.  heritage boat or not, don't stop fishing.  What lakes you fish in NorCal?  Maybe I will see you on the water.

I'm in the Redding area - Lake Shasta and Whiskeytown.

I guess I will finally start the deck extension.  I will frame with aluminum, wood top, and build a bigger livewell.  I will make it fully functional.  Still thinking what to do with rod locker.

Yes sir.  Just trying to finalize a few details.  Like the front storage... Maybe I will move two batteries up there and let the rear have more storage.  The rods... I am thinking of hollowing out the tubes to make a mini rod locker.  I do not want to get rid of too much leg space for me and passenger... but I am thinking that if extend the deck, to put another seat post up front.  This way, someone can fish up on the bow with me... or at least in that space.

Finally, how permenant… Do I want to make it something removing or permanent?  Still drawing things out.  But I should start the project soon.

I don't know about getting someone else up front.  I've fished three before and that was barely enough room with one on the back, one on the front and the third at the lower deck.  I was up front, and to think back on it I'm amazed someone didn't get hooked that day.

I'm just thinking of making it easier for my wife and I both to jig for Crappie and bream.  No line casting, just drop, jig, and pull up fish.  For bass fishing and the like, will keep it the same.

I might just take the livescope off of the trolling motor... Hmmm.

Well... I was adding gas to my tank and I did not pour my tank over to make sure there was no water in the spout. I got maybe an ounce or so of water in the gas tank now...

What do you all think will happen with this type of issued?  I plan on using some type of water remover and of contemplate even just dumping that tank of gas and getting new gas...  I did fish in the boat yesterday but didn't drive it much at all and was on the trolling motor.

Probably not worth it keeping it, even for a lawnmower. or snowblower  I bet a service station could dispose of it for you.  I mean, it's not that much right, maybe $40 worth?

If you know your going out and can burn a tank of gas I would use it up.  Bouncing of the boat should keep the water, an ounce, mixed up with the gas and should burn fine.  If your like me and maybe burn two tanks a season then you might want to dispose of it.  If the tank pick-up sucks up the bubble of water at the bottom, you might get into trouble once it gets to your engine. :titanic-081:

I ran it twice after I saw what happened... I will try to get rid of the gas.  It is really just a little, but I don't want the engine having issues.  Makes me want to open it up...  I guess I will have to take it in for service one day just so we can make sure all is fine.  it was really just a little, couldn't have been an ounce.

Yeah, I added 3 gallons.  The tank is only 6 gallons.
