  • Snow is expected to overspread northern Michigan after midnight...and continue into Friday morning while transitioning to lake effect snow showers. Locally heavy snow squalls Friday afternoon/evening

  • Oh - but you'd be wrong ~   But we have 'an agreement' - I don't bother them in January and they leave me be in June. Seems to work out for both parties.  A-Jay

Sub zero is right.  Yesterday it snowed off and on all day with a high temp of 29°, then more snow last night.  Woke up to about 2" on the ground, heavy frost on the trees, and 19° - a veritable winter wonderland in April.  It's time for it to end.  Usually by this time of year my long pants have been put away for the summer.

I want to go :fishing: in shorts.

That snow you got is what's going to hit us late tonight and tomorrow. 3"-5" predicted with today's morning low of 15.

We're a week away from average Ice-Out on the local lake (I live 2 blocks from it) and I don't think we're going to make it. I wanna get my canoe in the water sometime THIS year. ;(

I managed to put my new Old Town canoe in the water 2 weeks ago... got a beautiful day just a week after I got it and spent 3 hours paddling and fishing a 100 acre pond here.  No sign of bass but caught a couple of walleyes and a crappie on crankbaits.  That was the last day that I was even remotely inspired to get out, what with either wind or cold or both ever since.

Nice decoys.  They look very realistic.

Just 5 days away and I get to go back to fishing.

Had the same annoying dusting every morning here as well.  Night time drops into high teens low 20s.  I'm really getting sick of it.

This sums it up in this neck of the woods ~

Ouch that's rough to look at. I'm not sure about your extended forecast but it's going to get warmer everyday this week, with Friday topping out around 60. Fingers crossed you'll at least make it to freezing. ?

I generally do not mind the 4 major seasons here and I enjoy the changing of the seasons but this is getting to be ridiculous.  There's still over 2 feet of ice out there, and we're still getting regular snow.  Seriously, we need like 3 straight weeks of 50-60 degrees and some good rain if I wanna be in my boat on fishing opener in May.

There should be a government agency that relocates people anonymously from places they don't want to be at. For their own safety of course. And puts them in warmer, safer areas with plenty of places to fish. They should call it the Fishless Relocation Program.

Oh--Oh--can I pick Tahiti?

Looks like we're skipping spring altogether.  It's been doing this for a few years now.  Freezing, snow, then overnight it's in the 80s.

Must be you forgot that spring was in February when all the snow melted and the ground thawed. It lasted a week or so. Apparently spring falls between the beginning and end of winter now and doesn't last more than two weeks. I sure didn't get the memo.

The high temp here today is suppose to be 73 degrees.  I will believe it when it happens.

Tomorrow they're saying we'll 'nudge' at 50 - then more snow on Friday?

February just keeps on giving. (grumble-mumble-cuss)

I can not effectively express just how tired of this unseasonably long hard water season I am.

At this point I'm firmly stuck in an eternal Limbo status - nothing to do but wait it out.

Oh and this just in - Blizzard this weekend ~ Calling for a foot of snow.

Guess I'll be waiting some more . . . . . . .
